Description

The perfect narrator for Harry Bosh series!
This fifth book of the Harry Bosch series does not disappoint at all. From the beginning, it captivates the listener. The narrator truly enhances the listening experience, making it very immersive. His voice is not only pleasant but also versatile. He is indeed a true actor. Skillfully, he employs different tones and pitches, ensuring each character feels authentic. Edgar, for instance, is perfectly brought to life, aligning completely with the author's description.
It's refreshing to have Harry Bosch embark on a regular investigation, free from personal trouble, at least at the beginning. As the tale unfolds, we are transported to Las Vegas. The author masterfully uses this setting to recreate the city's unique ambiance.
A notable element is the reintroduction of a character from a previous book—an unexpected twist adding depth to Harry Bosch's character. As with past books in the series, the plot keeps you guessing throughout. There is always a surprising twist that holds your attention until the very end. The intricate storyline, filled with multiple subplots, might seem overambitious at first glance. However, the author makes it feel not only genuine but very realistic.
