Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing. But it's the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute take a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant Nobel-prize-nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Description
Brought to you by Penguin.
This is not a romance, but it is about love.
Two kids meet in a hospital gaming room in 1987. One is visiting her sister, the other is recovering from a car crash. The days and months are long there. Their love of video games becomes a shared world—of joy, escape and fierce competition. But all too soon that time is over, fades from view.
When the pair spot each other eight years later in a crowded train station, they are catapulted back to that moment. The spark is immediate, and together they get to work on what they love—making games to delight, challenge and immerse players, finding an intimacy in digital worlds that eludes them in their real lives. Their collaborations make them superstars.
This is the story of the perfect worlds Sadie and Sam build, the imperfect world they live in and of everything that comes after success: money. Fame. Duplicity. Tragedy.
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow takes us on a dazzling imaginative quest as it examines the nature of identity, creativity, disability, failure, the redemptive possibilities in play and, above all, our need to connect: to be loved and to love.

Love in its myriad manifestations
Though as a teenager in the 90s I did occasionally play some of the games referenced in this story, I am not a gamer, but this book had me hooked from the start. I could see it being frustrating to readers over a certain age, as I feel that at least a passing knowledge of computer gaming and its evolution helps to understand a lot. That said, the story is one of the most poignant and thought provoking explorations of love I have ever read.

Disappointing
It starts off well but then I became frustrated with the characters Sadie and Sam and the story lost its appeal.
Perhaps of interest if you are a gamer. Overall disappointing unfortunately.

Superb dive
As a 44 year old gamer, Zevin took me across a great trip visiting friendship, betrayal, creation, love and loss over a tapestry of the games that shaped my generation. She does it with an original and perfectly crafted ludic narrative structure 👏

3.5 stars
Started off as a potential 5 star read/listen but the unnecessary melodrama of Sadie (who became such an unlikable character) and the rampant use of miscommunication as a trope lowered the score for me.
It’s still a good book/story but it’s very overhyped IMO. There are some genuinely sweet moments in the story + I ate the story up quickly— which is great, but otherwise T&T&T was just OK.
The same can be said with the narration, the female narrator’s voice is robotically sombre in which the delivery can really drain the emotion from certain scenes. The male narrator is much better though for spoilery reasons his appearance is brief in the audiobook.

Fantastic and thought provoking
I love this book and couldn’t stop listening. There were a lot of things that I felt the characters were frustrating and unlikable, but that is so true to real people and I hope that is what the writer was trying to do. Because of this choice the ending was more powerful, the twists were surprising and I fell in love with these characters.
I love the parallel yet opposite journeys the main characters take. Soo smart.

Left a bit unsatisfied
Couldn’t stop listening to this book, but at the same time I felt very frustrated by all of the main characters throughout the entire book. Kept waiting for a positive shift in character by Sam and Sadie, but was let down all the way through.

Poetry, art, beautiful
This audiobook is beautifully read and written by a true artist. The gaming world is something I had never even considered but the story captures your entire imagination and you share the entire experience as if you are clever enough to be the characters in it. Some great existential pondering a and indeed quotes and a truly poetic dive into everything friendship entails. I loved it.
