The 5-star reviews are not genuine
I purchased this not only because the content is valuable to me but because the reviews were glowing. And as I’m plowing through it, it’s actually incredibly dry and I’m not enjoying it at all. In the process of trying to return it, I actually came across the reviews and began reading - they’re not real! All one sentence, nothing personal in any of them, screams FAKE.

Practical and Effective Gentle Parenting Advice
This book is laser-targeted at my needs and is the kind of book I have been waiting for! There are dozens of gentle discipline books out there, but often they are lengthy and more theoretical than practical. Here, Jamie manages to share an approach that is respectful of the child AND the parent in a way that is straightforward and practical. We started applying suggestions Jamie offered immediately and to great effect.

Informative and interesting guide
Really helpful info when your kid is hitting that 2 1/2 - 3yr old boundary-pushing behavior and you feel like abandoning a gentle parenting approach, this helps you understand from their perspective and offers great advice.

good to listen
Turned my non-listening toddler into a kid I can talk to. Remaining calm is the hardest part about toddler discipline. If you can do that and state what you mean, it creates an amazing trusting relationship.

Even though there were some points that I disagreed with, I feel the book was helpful in centering me as a parent and giving me confidence in dealing with my spirited child MORE EFFICIENTLY during challenging moments :) This is making parenting much more pleasant and enjoyable!!
