Far too many guides written about karate and the martial arts place emphasis only upon the killing aspects and, worse still, upon the "seeing who is better" aspects of the art. This audiobook does not. If fact, it reflects upon the martial arts from a different time and place, as it was hundreds of years ago, before it became popular in the West and people were awarded ranks in astonishingly short periods of time.
This audiobook speaks about the true spirit of the martial arts...when it should be used and when it shouldn't; it accurately recounts the history of a number of mainstream martial arts and then goes on to put forth the philosophy of "Christians in the Martial Arts".
I receive emails and letters from worried Christians who wish to take up the martial arts but who think there is a conflict. This audiobook shows definitively there is no conflict at all, provided one learns the martial arts based upon their original and pure intents and not for self-gain, rank, or position.
For those who wish to hear something very unusual about the martial arts from a totally different point of view, I highly recommend this audiobook. It will make a valuable addition to your library.
