They dressed as beasts, draping fur over their chainmail clad bodies, while wearing iron helmets with animal heads attached over the top. They used huge broad swords or large heavy clubs to subdue their victims, often slaughtering whole villages for a few gold coins. Their arsenal of weapons included swords, spears, axes, clubs, bows and arrows, and fire.They were the scourge of the coastal inhabitants of Europe.
