Great voice acting
Georgette Heyer's books are wonderful in print, but the audiobooks add so much life and colour. Thomas Judd's narration is wonderful, especially his Yorkshire accent for Hugo Darracott. As an Australlian, I'd never been able to "hear" it in my head whilst reading the print version. Bravo!

Well done classic
Classic Heyer witty entertaining story and very well done voice acting by the narrator. The dialects were particularly good.

Liked it more the longer I listened
I gave up on this after just a few minutes the first time I tried to listen to it. The narration sounded incredibly flat and I couldn’t bear to listen any longer. I’m glad I tried again and persevered longer on the second try, it’s actually a good narration! Just some weird intonation (or lack of) initially, as the scene is set.

Ein echter Heyer…
… ist The Unknown Ajax , als Hörbuch in der Originalsprache ganz besonders! Ein fantastischer Sprecher mit einer tollen Stimme und der Fähigkeit die verschiedenen Charaktere unterschiedlich zum Leben zu erwecken. Die äußerst spannende Geschichte ist voller skurriler und liebenswerter/fragwürdiger/hassenswerter Gestalten. Der Wortwitz aus Georgette Heyers spitzer Feder, lässt den Zuhörer kichern und lachen. Ich liebe alle ihre Bücher, dies ist aber sicher eines meiner top Favoriten!

Herrlich
Wer Fan der Georgette Heyer Bücher im englischen Original ist, macht bei diesem Hörbuch keinen Fehler: toller Sprecher, der die verschiedenen Charaktere mit Spielfreude liest.

Die wahre Freude
Bisher habe ich diese Geschichte nur auf Deutsch gelesen - sie jetzt auf Englisch vorgelesen zu bekommen, noch dazu von so einem hervorragenden Sprecher wie Thomas Judd, ist ein besonderes Vergnügen.
In der deutschen Version fällt der Yorkshire-Dialekt nicht so sehr auf, hier allerdings schon. Wie gut, dass ich das eBook nebenbei offen hatte und versuchen konnte, das Gesagte etwas besser zu verstehen (da ich das Buch öfter gelesen habe, konnte ich mich einigermaßen an die Gespräche erinnern).
Sehr vergnüglich, eine Herausforderung und eine neue Begegnung mit einem alten Freund🤗
(eine Anmerkung noch: die Audible-Version ist nicht synchronisiert, was schade ist)
