Under the three moons of Ymir, Emblyn has been anointed by the gods to rid the world of evil at the point of an enchanted sword. An old friend from her childhood, Joel, finds that he cannot rest easily, for dreams of the future haunt him. In those visions, he has seen the Anointed One fall in battle, which he fears will herald the rise of darkness. Out of a sense of duty and love for his old friend, he sets out to warn her of the danger. The problem is, as a crusader, it is Emblyn’s solemn duty to execute anyone who claims they can see the future.
In this journey, they will unravel a conspiracy that has prevailed over their world for thousands of years, for it seems that even the very gods they pray to may not be gods at all, but something far more sinister.
