Description

Cold and alone, Brad finds himself at the harsh frontier of this terrifying new world. He’s lucky to be taken in by a new community of survivors - a militia enclave - and at first, they seem to have a good thing going. Food, supplies, and leadership. Has Brad found his new safe haven?

Of course, nothing in the new dark world is easy, and though things seem to be idyllic on the surface, his new community quickly begins to show its true colors....

Can Brad keep his moral compass as everyone around loses theirs? And can he track down Anna and the children before it’s too late?

This is the third book in the Enter Darkness series.

MIND BLOWN!

First I have to start off by saying that this book was given to me free of charge for a review of the audiobook, but as always, this does not change my opinion and will not determine how I review the book or the rating that I give it.

This novel was amazing and was my favorite read of the week. I have a thing for apocalyptic/post books and this was right up my alley. I highly recommend this book.

Awesome survival series

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I would definitely recommend reading or listening to the first 2 books before this one. Not that you need it to follow what is going on (it's a post apocalyptic story, after all) but I can see how it would make it more interesting to have the background knowledge about the survivors. The narration is very good and I have thoroughly enjoyed this whole series. On to book 4

Was Just Ok

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This review is for the audio copy of The Survivors - A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Novel: Enter Darkness, Book 3, by K. M. Fawkes and narrated by Andrew B. Wehrlen. This book was just ok for me. To be fair, I jumped right into book three (this book), without having read or listened to books 1 and 2. But there was just enough back story to get me going. The story developed decently but I never got really attached to the protagonist. The narration was good, Andrew did a good job with differentiating the characters. The story just did not grab my attention or interest. Not bad but not above average either.

The Survivors

Loved it! Brad is found, nearly dead, by another group of survivors. Andrew B Wehrlen was again, the best narrator.I can't wait to read book 4!

Will this be our future

The Survivors - A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Novel: Enter Darkness, Book 3. The adventure continues or should it be the nightmare continues, the post apocalyptic world is no place for the weak & naive. Gripping and fast paced our hero makes another mistake which may cost him dearly.
Good entertainment, just as good as the first two.

Book Four Here I Come!

This is not a stand-alone book, if you haven't read the first two then read them first. The only reason I gave it fewer stars was because I was disappointed in how much bad language was added in and I'm hoping the next book has less of it. In books 1 & 2 there was an occasional f-bomb or cuss word but this one it was triple the amount at least. I can handle a few especially if they are well placed but this one had just too much. The storyline and pace were great, I am hooked. It starts off right where book two left off and has several nail-biting moments and yes leaves off in another cliffhanger. The narrator does a great job and I really enjoyed listening to him. This book is definitely geared for a young adult to an adult crowd between graphic violence and bad language.

Interesting reason for an apocalyptic event

This is the first book I’ve read/listened to by this author and I would like to listen to more of this series. This book is a separate portion of the overall story, so not having listened to the previous books was not a issue. Incidents that happened in the previous books (that separated him from Anna and the children) are eluded to but not fully explained and Anna does not make it into this story otherwise. That’s for the next book(s) apparently. This book also ends with a degree of conclusion and leads into the next installment.

The nanotechnology that was supposed to be a medical miracle started to kill off the earths population. An EMP was set off to try to stop this. Now, with winter in full force and having lost his home, Brad sets out in an attempt to find his companions. Alone, hungry and freezing he’s found by some soldiers and is taken to a community that is happy to have him join them. They agree to help Brad look for his missing companions in exchange for his contribution to their community. He has survival skills and was a veterinarian. Problem is, days pass and there seems to be no attempt to start looking. Then Brad starts to become aware of other things that are not as they initially seemed.

This is the seventh book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Andrew B Wehrlen ) and I would jump at the chance to listen to another. Not only do I enjoy his narration, but his style seems to perfectly suit the post apocalyptic genre.

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.

Still good.

I received a free copy of this audiobook and exchange for an unbiased review. I have listened to every other book in the series and all this is still good I do feel like it's slipping a little bit. The narration is great though. hopefully they can bring things back around in book four.

The struggle to survive continues.

Dang, poor Brad just can't seem to catch a break. Struggling to survive in the harsh wildness after the events of the previous volume left him homeless, Brad is rescued by a mysterious new group. Something just doesn't feel quite right, and even as Brad tries to fit in, he starts to investigate this new group, all the time still wondering what has become of his 'family'. Another solid episode in this continuing post apocalyptic saga. And once again Andrew Wehrlen's narration is spot on.
