Description

Michael A. Singer, author of The Untethered Soul, tells the extraordinary story of what happened when, after a deep spiritual awakening, he decided to let go of his personal preferences and simply let life call the shots. As Singer takes you on this great experiment and journey into life's perfection, the events that transpire will both challenge your deepest assumptions about life and inspire you to look at your own life in a radically different way.

Spirituality is meant to bring about harmony and peace. But the diversity of our philosophies, beliefs, concepts, and views about the soul often leads to confusion. To reconcile the noise that clouds spirituality, Michael Singer combines accounts of his own life journey to enlightenment - from his years as a hippie-loner to his success as a computer program engineer to his work in spiritual and humanitarian efforts - with lessons on how to put aside conflicting beliefs, let go of worries, and transform misdirected desires. Singer provides a road map to a new way not of living in the moment but to exist in a state of perpetual happiness.

Fabulous

Even though he narrated his life, step by step you can understand how apply the surrender experiment.

Could not stop listening!

It is so inspiring to listen to Michael. I had never heard of him before I listened to this book. I hope I can do the same: let life guide me, not the ‘ I want’ or ‘I don’t want’. Beautiful book!

Life changing

A truly life changing account of the power of surrender. I loved the concept of looking at everything you do each day as an act of service - giving you very best at all times and then surrendering to the flow of life. The miracles really do lie in what happens thereafter.

Great book

A very honest and inspiring book that really helped me to “surrender” and stop trying to control things that are outside my reach.

One of the best books I have read.

Not a traditional Christian book

Not a traditional Christian book however despite its references to new age spirituality and Indian Jogis I highly recommend this book. if you are a courageous Christian seeking something deeper like myself then this book is a must read.

This is better than excellent... listen now

There are good books, great books, excellent books and then there is THIS book. Western society is so addicted to success, but without happiness... how many are on happy pills to cope with getting out of bed, life in general is pretty sad, stressful and painful. I am sure you have asked yourself "is there a better way?"... well... listen now.

You don't need to possibly go to the lengths Michael did, but figure out what it means to you and your life... you do YOU!! do it NOW

blind spot

it's an interesting story with beautiful spiritual aspects. alas the author loses himself more and more in detailed descriptions of the growth of his computer business. instead he only once mentions his relationship with his daughter, when he compares his excitement at her finishing high school to his excitement when selling his medical management program to a nationally operating business partner. of course he was so much more excited in the second occasion ! surrendering to "whatever life puts before me" he never seems to notice the outstretched arms of his little daughter before him but keeps taking on job after job, assuring only that he didn't miss his meditation daily meditation sessions.
there's obviously a blind spot I what the man perceives as a request from the life forces and what not.
in a YouTube interview the author makes fun of people who as grown-ups still suffer for the loss of their mother at age five, instead of surrendering like he so successfully does.
reading his book it seems that he in all his surrendering is still chasing his dad, a successful business giant, who never took the time to build a day to day relationship with his son.
