    Description

An enriching story of family ties, broken hearts, and second chances from New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst.

When Ethan Bishop returns to the Hudson Valley, his body and spirit are a little worse for wear. As a former Special Forces paratrooper, he saw his fair share of conflict, and he came home with wounds, inside and out. At his sisters’ B & B and farm, he can keep all his pain at a safe distance. But quiet time isn’t easy when a fiery woman explodes into his life...

It’s business - not pleasure - that brings Manhattan PR agent Mia Thrush reluctantly to the farm. Tightly wound and quick tempered, Mia clashes immediately with the brooding Ethan. Everything about him is irritating - from his lean muscles and piercing blue eyes to his scent of sweat and musk.

But as the summer unfolds and temperatures rise, Ethan and Mia discover how much they have in common: their guarded histories, an uncontrollable desire, and a passion for the future that could heal two broken hearts. But will their pasts threaten their fragile chance at a brand-new future?

Sweet book! Stormy love with great weather due!

OK, there were so many parts that had me chuckling. Hey Hey the chicken for one. I can always count on Jennifer to make me laugh, and even swoon a little at her real, intense and realistic guys and their dialogue. And, ya can't go wrong with Sebastian and Madeleine! I really liked the uniqueness of this book.. and how they both were willing to compromise at the end. It's a good read, er, Listen!

This is my first Jennifer Probst book

And I loved it! Such a sweet story about a Special Forces warrior who is wounded - physically and in his soul - and the woman who makes him whole again. Loved the narration too!

    Wonderful story

Loved this story, it left a smile on my face at the end. I dinked the performance because I am not a fan of Madeleine’s voice, especially when she’s doing a male’s voice. No feeling.

    Interesting read

The characters are all overwhelmed with personal issues but don't fear......everyone is helping one another resolve said issues. This is a timely story of current issues.

    cute story had no chance

Predictable but cute story. York was as good as always but the Maby killed any consistency in Ethan's character development. Her male voices are terrible. When she narrated it was like Ethan was a completely different person (or should I saw robot) than York's Ethan. Her over enunciation across the board is very distracting. She also spoke for the 16 year old girl in a voice that made her sound 7. I'm going to pass on books she narrates going forward.

    Perfection!!

This book was a delight from beginning to end and has everything I look for in a truly spectacular read. Small town charm, family dynamics, sibling rivalry, B&B guests that are a real hoot and two main characters who mix like oil and water and drive each other crazy in a really good way. Ethan Bishop wants nothing to do with interacting with his sister’s B&B guests. He’s happy living in a run down bungalow on the property while he figures out what direction his life is going to take now that he’s no longer in the military. Mia Thrush is a highly successful city girl through and through. She’s a petite dynamo in high heels who is about to spend the entire summer living her worst nightmare. From their first encounter Ethan and Mia absolutely despise each other but where there’s smoke there’s fire and the sexual chemistry between is like white lightning in a bottle. You definitely want a front row seat so you can laugh and cry and appreciate the excellent storytelling that’s waiting for you when you open this book. The narration was absolutely perfect and provided a wonderful listening experience.

    Good Story and development

It is nice to see the relationship between the MCs develop instead of being instantly there. The storylines converged well and the topic of PTSD was treated respectfully.

The female reader was clear and concise; however, at times, it felt like she was woodenly reading instead of acting out the story. I have heard her before and she was much better.

    Enjoyable

Started slow but built to a good, albeit light and easy, listen. Likewise, the narration took a bit of getting used to but ended up being okay.
