When a desperate father makes a deal with evil, an entire community pays the price.
Hawthorn Unger believes an ancient ritual can grant immortality—all it requires is the blood of an innocent. After murdering sixteen-year-old Tres Waugh at a remote Arkansas lake, Unger serves the deadly concoction to unsuspecting guests at a Halloween party.
But Tres's great-grandmother, Phyllis Ann Porre—one of the most powerful Vodun priestesses in New Orleans—invokes a final prayer before her death: divine retribution against everyone who consumed her great-grandson's blood.
As an archangel begins hunting the guilty, FBI agents race to protect the innocent survivors. The only person who might stop the massacre is Mira Waugh, Tres's grieving mother. But breaking a curse answered by God himself will require her to face an impossible choice: justice for her son or mercy for those who unknowingly drank his blood.
In the Arkansas backwoods, where ancient spirituality collides with modern evil, some sins demand a reckoning that transcends human law.
