In Hazelshade Forest, every creature depends on the Common Honey Store during the cold season. The bees gather it, the bears guard its heavy doors, and the forest council records every jar. But when sealed crocks begin vanishing without broken locks or spilled honey, suspicion spreads faster than hunger.
The Nightstripe raccoon family—practical Rowan, patient Elara, clever Pip, observant Juniper, and Grandmother Sable—agrees to protect the store without turning neighbor against neighbor. Their investigation leads through hidden ledgers, false shortages, a dangerous storm, and a scheme that profits from fear. To save the forest's shared reserve, the family must prove that guarding a common treasure means more than watching a door: it means making the rules visible, the burdens fair, and the truth strong enough to be shared.
