Marlon Berkowitz, a retired special forces colonel, is selected by the U.S. State Department of Defense to shape and lead The Quadrille, a shadow-network of expendable undercover operatives tasked with the elimination of all Soviet nuclear saboteurs operating on U.S. soil. The colonel's first recruit is a man he is most familiar with; Sgt Major Patrick Coonan, a young U.S. Ranger sniper who no many kill missions he is given, always comes back for more.
