Description

How can someone so smokin' hot be so bad in bed? I mean, Sean Cassidy is absolute rubbish. Rubbish. He is the epitome of walking, talking false advertising and I want a refund! Plus he's an arsehole. So...what is wrong with me that I can't stop thinking about him?

The Pixie

Lucy Fitzpatrick doesn't like rugby.

As the little sister of Ireland's most infamous rugby player, Lucy can't seem to escape the championship-sized shadow cast by her big brother, or her mother's frequent attempts to micromanage her future. Her rainbow hair is as free-spirited as her quest for inner peace, yet overbearing expectations keep bringing her down. And when she's down, her compulsive little problem lands her in seriously big trouble.

The Player

Sean Cassidy is a cold-hearted brute...or so he's been told. Frequently. By everyone.

His blonde locks, baby blues, and rock hard bod make ladies the world over drool with desire. As the rugby world's second most infamous player, he should be basking in his success. But Sean has never been content settling for second place, and his frequent confrontations with Lucy's big brother leave him cold. And when he's cold, his compulsive little problem lands him in the lap of Lucy Fitzpatrick.

The Plan

Sean has a problem only Lucy can solve. Lucy has a problem only Sean can fix. The solution seems obvious: you scratch my back, and I'll bail you out of jail. But when their business arrangement unexpectedly leaves Sean scorching hot and Lucy on the precipice of inner peace, can they convince the world - and Lucy's big brother in particular - that this is the real deal?

Either way, both the Player and the Pixie are about to teach each other some pretty monumental lessons about family, life, but most importantly, love.

The Pixie and the Player is a full-length, romantic comedy novel, can be enjoyed as a standalone, and is the second book in the Rugby Series.

Swoon worthy!

This one is totally worth the read. I didn't want to like Sean Cassidy, at all, but dang this story melts the heart. These authors sure do know how to write comedy, angst, and moments that tugggggg at the heart strings.

Loved the narrators!

Absolutely loved the narrators! George Allan and KC Sheridan were spot on on choices for Sean and Lucy. Those accents! *swoon*
I read book one in this series a couple of years ago and somehow LH Cosway and Penny Reid fell off my radar. I know, the horror! Right? When I saw that this series was available on the Romance Package, I was ecstatic that I would be able to reunite with this writing duo. The writing was just as I remembered. I laughed, I swooned, and I even cried.
I loved how it was the Hero in the story that was "inexperienced", for lack of a better word. I wasn't sure about Sean in the beginning. He was such a haughty prick that I didn't know how he would turn things around but he did. And it was the unexpected side of him that endeared him to me.
I'm eager to start The Cad and the Co-ed now. Bryan and Eilish, yikes! How will that turn out?

4 The Player and the Pixie Stars

I really enjoyed Sean and I didn’t think I would. Because in book 1 he isn’t a character you would want to read about but I loved that he was humanized in this book and that he wasn’t a total douche bag.

Lucy being that she is Ronan’s brother was interesting and her dynamic with her mother and with her brother made me see her in a different light.

I get why she does the things she does but I wanted her to get help.

I loved that Lucy was Sean’s teacher, and that he likes her just the way she is!! I lovvvvvved that part of the book so much.

Again another hit. I am really excited to read the next installment in this series.
The narration is awesome and how he changes the voices of each of them man just a little really helps keep them separate.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Different and delightful!

Every single thing about this story appealed to me. The whole “forbidden” nature of the relationship between Lucy and Sean was irresistible and then, as I listened and the story unfolded?

Hot. Damn.

It was sexy and sweet and romantic in a way I was completely not expecting. I loved every single thing about it. The narration is perfect (and gah! How I loved the accents), and so is the story itself. A+++!

Great story- and great female narrator

I truly loved the story and especially the narration by KC Sheridan. I want to listen to everything she’s narrated. I absolutely hated the male narrator and cringed whenever he narrated a chapter.

Good story

I enjoyed the storyline but it would have been way better with different narrators. The narrator for Sean, for instance, made him seem gay especially when he talked about shopping. The cute little things he did or when he got upset would have been much sexier with a different narrator.

Completely unexpected delight

I had my reservations about this book because of the male protagonist, I learned to hate him in book one, but gosh this is such an amazing book. It had me gasping and laughing many, many times.
I loved all of the turns and twists, mostly the realization of his not-so-good aptitude, something I would fully expect in real life but never expected to see in a book, hahaha, still makes me laugh.

Vulnerable and surprisingly likeable

Like Ronan I never thought I would like Sean Cassidy. But he is vulnerable, likeable, funny and sexy. Loved it! And loved Lucy and Sean's story.

5 STARS!

After reading the first book in this series and enjoying it, but not loving it, I was slow to continue on. I could kick myself. I loved this book, the characters, and unique story line. Half the time, I couldn't decide between listening to the audio or reading the ebook. The audio was so well done. This duo of authors are exceptional at combining smart and subtle humor with vulnerable characterization of their MC's. Sean, who is wretched in the first Rugby book, is realistically redeemed in this one without making him too perfect of a hero. The characters may not have been perfect, but this story was perfect in its unpredictability, unique story line, adorable romance, and wit.
