    Description

Someone found him in a laundry basket at the Quick Wash, wrapped in a towel, a few hours old and close to death. They called him "Baby Moses" when they shared his story on the ten o'clock news.

It all happened before I was born, and by the time I met Moses and my mom told me all about him, the story was old news, and nobody wanted anything to do with him. People love babies, even sick babies. Even crack babies. But babies grow up to be kids, and kids grow up to be teenagers. Nobody wants a messed up teenager.

And Moses was messed up. Moses was a law unto himself. But he was also strange and exotic and beautiful. To be with him would change my life in ways I could never have imagined. Maybe I should have stayed away. Maybe I should have listened. My mother warned me. Even Moses warned me. But I didn't stay away.

    One of the BEST

You know, I was so excited to find this was being released in audio form. I had read it when it first came out and thought it to be such brilliant writing. The depth and substance of the characters, the creative and superb storyline, and the powerful way that Ms Harmon has of weaving love, tragedy, humor, broken-ness and redemption throughout. That being said, it just HAD to be heard as well. And, boy howdy, I was not disappointed. The two narrators (JD Jackson/Moses and Tavia Gilbert/Geoergia) were excellent in their interpretation of the writing adding further to the veracity of the story. I love to listen to a book I've read and this one has got to be among my all time favorites. I heard things I did not read or see; I felt things on a much more primal level; and the connection to both Moses and Georgia (and always Eli) was one forged on an emotional anvil. So, why go any further with the review? It's by far and away a lovely opportunity to visit this book for the first time or to connect at the different and deeper levels after reading it. Don't miss it, please.

    Hauntingly beautiful!

I could not stop listening to this book! It's sad yet hopeful, and totally addictive. The movie/book rating I would give it is PG-13 for strong language (without the F word) and implied sex. I would definitely recommend this book!!!

I really wanted to love this book ......

This is a novel. It is well written, well thought out, and very different. That being said I can appreciate the talent that went into writing of this story .... I did not like the vehicle that led to the HEA. I think it was because of the tragedy in the book which I will not give away its a spoiler. I know I am in the minority in not loving this book, but it just was not for me.

    Exceptional story!

Ms. Harmon creates masterpieces when she writes.
The narrators did an outstanding job bringing the characters to life. They are so well defined that for me they seemed flawless and very real. The goodness of these characters just make you fall in love with each one of them and hate their enemies. I laughed and cried. Oh boy..did I cry. I felt everything. I was addicted to listening. I'm overjoyed with this book. Only bad thing for me was that the story ended. I will read and listen again and again. This story was good for my heart and soul!

    A truly AMAZING Story

How can I even talk about this book it is just so amazing. I say that because it is different yet so enthralling I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t want to put it down.
The way Amy can write and bring us characters such as Moses it amazes me the talent.

Characters like Moses and Georgia are one of a kind truly remarkable who you can feel all the emotions with them. Your heart is happy when theirs is and sad when theirs is. The connection I felt with the characters is beautiful I don’t want to just put the blurb into my own words. Because this book deserves so much more than that, it deserves all the words.

I will say if you have read an Amy book before then you KNOW each book is not only thought-provoking but also heart wrenching and soul mending.

So if you are in the market for a truly amazing book then you need to listen to this because not only is the book amazing but the narrators bring this book to the extra level.

    A Somewhat Reluctant 4-star review

The Law of Moses held my attention completely, and I felt sympathy and love for both Moses and Georgia. However, I, who am normally an easy cryer, did not cry as so many other reviewers did. Instead I felt slightly frustrated and just a little bit annoyed by the rather ambiguous ending. But I can't pretend I wasn't forewarned: early in the book Moses and Georgia are discussing their favorite authors. Georgia names Dean Koontz, among others, and Moses says no, that Dean Koontz knows too much. Anybody who has read Dean Koontz should see that tiny episode as a red flag - but one starts a Dean Koontz novel sort of knowing what to expect. This book is labeled a romance. There is love in this story, but it is a love that waxes and wanes and is tested to the breaking point, and there is an enormous amount of pain. There is also a preponderance of . . . . concepts concerning life, death, and the shadowlands that perhaps lay in between that one doesn't usually seek or find in a "romance." The writing was beautiful, the imagery was astounding, and the story was captivating. For all of that, I give it four stars. I'm not sure, however, that I will seek out any more "romances" by this author.

    Not Amy's best

I was recently introduced to Amy Harmon when I listened to Infinity + One, which I loved. So, I got The Law of Moses as my second listen, because I was so impressed with the first book I heard. But this one falls very short of Infinity + 1. The story seemed to drag and although Ms. Harmon is a gifted writer, the romance between Georgia and Moses just dragged out too long.

I think my expectations were too high. The narration was very good, but it seemed like Tavia and J.D. were unbalanced. They are both very talented -- they did a great job, but Tavia moved along at a good pace, while J.D. seemed to leave long pauses between sentences. His voice is really lovely and easy to listen to, but it sounded like they recorded from different studios, which was probably likely. While Tavia was reading at a good pace for the character, J.D. seemed to read very slow, and that may have been what the producers intended, but it just didn't work well.

I heard some noises as well, like a stomach growling and some swallowing in J.D's read.. I don't think the average listener would pick up on that, but I understand what goes into producing an audio book and whoever gave the direction should have been on top of that.

Both narrators are extremely talented, so I don't blame them, but the quality assurance wasn't up to par and I don't know who is responsible for that.

I really recommend Infinity + 1 over this book. I almost didn't finish this. About half way through, the story really started to drag. It did pick up nicely in the last hour, but it could have been an hour or two shorter. And the producer should have matched the pacing of the two narrators better.

I like Amy Harmon. She's extremely gifted, but this book was just not up to what I would expect from such a great writer like Amy. If you are a huge fan of hers, then it might be worth the cost, but I think, for my taste, it could have been much more succinct. The concept of the book (the people Moses sees) was really interesting, but all in all, it didn't quite make up for where it is lacking..
Again, the narrators are very talented, I'm guessing it might have been a production problem more that a problem with J. D.-- he's got a beautiful, smooth, tender voice.

Worth the credit if you are a huge Amy Harmon fan, but if you are new to her books, I would skip this one and try a different one, like Infinity + One.

Lovely, poetically written; a story about deep love and deep feelings without the slightest notion of being cheesy. Just loved it.

Beautiful and so so so awesome narrated

Amy Harmon books are amazing and this was the second time between me an Moses and Georgia. But I listened for the first time and this audiobook took the story to a higher level. I thought my heart would leap out of my chest and I loved how into the story the speakers were. This audiobook gets all my stars.

Novel that transcends beyond any other love story

5 ☆'s for the wonderfully crafted story & writing,
5 ☆'s for the inspiration, enlightenment and heartwarming emotion it left me behind.
OMG.....how can I rate this extraordinary story! I don't know where and how to begin. There's so much to praise for this novel. It's everything you imagined a good love story, family drama, second chances, Young-Adult, suspense and paranormal novel could be. You'd laugh, you'd be angry, you'd ache and cry from heartbreak & happines all at the same time. I'd rather recommend readers to read this book blindly, knowing nothing of what the story is about (like I did). From the very beginning, you would already be caught up in the story. It binds you in and with it that you can't stop rolling with it! It's like BEING there! Watching a real epic award winning movie in your mind and imagination.
The author, Amy Harmon, did a perfectly well-crafted story. She wrote it beautifully with words that I would call "heart & soul language" cause your heart and your soul resonates with her choice of words and storytelling. Her main characters are lovables, you'd fall in love with them from the very start. I found another favorite Author. Her writing style is so impressive, I felt her writing skills similar of one of my favorite author, Laini Taylor (Daughter of Smoke & Bone). Decent and classy, never a foul language necessary to make you laugh or cry.
I have an Audiobook at the same time. Listening and reading. The Voice actors, Tavia Gilbert and J.D. Jackson perfectly narrated and gave the characters life. Especially the intense dramatic scenes where the voice actor actually cries along the story lines! Wow! My emotions gave way. 5 ☆'s for the Voice-Actors, too.
I felt so inspiringly and (...I'd say...) Spiritually good after reading "The Law Of Moses". This story transcends beyond any other epic love story. A story of love, of family, of hurt, heartbreak, of second-chances, of sorrow, of life and of death. Death....and way beyond that. And most of all, it's a story of FORGIVENESS.
Oh dear, now I'm tearing up again 😢.
