    Description

After the success of The Lady Most Likely, New York Times best-selling authors Julia Quinn, Eloisa James, and Connie Brockway have joined together once again, but this time to ask the question, 'Who is The Lady Most Willing?'

When Laird Taran Ferguson's nephews refuse to wed and secure his birthright, he takes matters into his own hands, raiding a ball and kidnapping four likely brides - a bonny lass, an heiress with a slight reputation problem, a rich English beauty, and a maiden without a name or a fortune. But which one is ready to fall in love with the Scottish lord?

Add a very angry duke, a decrepit castle, and a fierce Highland storm that is holding all of Taran's "guests" captive to the mix, and listeners will find themselves transported to a world of temptation, passion, and new and unexpected love. This historical romance novel in three parts - a single story with three compelling voices - is one that will not soon be forgotten.

    HISTORICAL HILARIOUS HIGHLAND MAHEM

A flawless compilation by three brilliant authors who together have written a continuous funny story that has 4 eligible Ladies kidnapped for marriage by an overbearing Scottish Laird for his bachelor kinsmen.

The fiasco takes place in his snowbound Castle where slowly each bachelor is helplessly drawn to one of the Ladies, succumbs to love and eventually proposals start flying around. It was light, thoroughly entertaining, funny and so seemlessly written that you would think it was done by just one author.

Worth a credit? Well what's not to like......... so it's a YES from me.

    Funny, Funny, Funny!

Did I mention this was funny!? In short, a scottish uncle, who has no children to leave his "castle" to only two nephews, decides to take matters into his own hands and kidnap suitable scottish heiress for his nephews to marry. One nephew is "tainted" with English blood and the other "French" blood, but they are his only heirs. You can just guess how well the kidnapping scheme went over, but no one could do anything about it because they where stuck there in a storm. Yes, yes, it is a predicable story and outcome, but it is written so well that you don't mind.

The narrator, Susan Duerden, was EXCELLENT....a 5+ star performance!

A fun romp if you can suspend belief

Definitely a stretch but a humorous tale with interesting characters. Perfect narration running a gammet of voices.

A light and fun romance, predictable but enjoyable, with a strong performance. The 3 parts blended well

    Wonderful

Think 7 Brides for 7 brothers, only with 4 unrelated men and 4 different women...and no music! But still a romp. Well told, well narrated. Loved all the stories! I did have a particular soft spot for Duke of Bretton and his lady. Very funny and so sweet. Highly recommend! Go for it and enjoy. Susan Duerden does a terrific job.

    Simply the best!

Of all the audiobooks I have heard this one is by far the best! Not only are the stories amazing but the narrator brings all the fun and romance to life. Every night when I cannot sleep I turn on this audiobook knowing that all my stress will melt away and I will fall asleep with a smile.

I love Julia Quinn, but forced myself to finish

Would you try another book from the authors and/or Susan Duerden?

I would read another Julia Quinn in a heartbeat, but it was easy to determine which characters were hers and which were not. Julia is witty, funny and her characters are real and likeable. I was hoping the other two authors would be the same (I need some new reads!) But the other two spent more time ruminating inside their own thoughts than having the characters interact and I personally don't want so much inner dialogue.

What did you like best about this story?

The plot was fun -4 ladies kidnapped by a Highland Laird anxious to see his nephews married and he accidentally kidnapped a Duke in the process. The Duke and Catriona were my favorite couple -fun, witty banter and the kind of match you want to see!

What does Susan Duerden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I thought she did an excellent job with the number of voices she had to keep up with -4 ladies, a Scottish laird and 3 English Gentleman. I never had to guess who was talking and her voice was easy to listen to.

Did The Lady Most Willing... inspire you to do anything?

Re-Read/ Listen to some of my old Julia Quinn favorites -"What Happens in London," "The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever," "Ten Things I Love About You," and "It's in His Kiss."

    Cute, predictable, zero heat

I'm a huge fan of Connie Brockway's so I chose this book expecting something a bit, well, steamier. This trilogy of connected stories is nicely done, and there some funny moments, but the love stories have little time to develop. There is one recurring character, a ridiculously flirtatious and spoiled younger sister, who is written as so unlikeable that I found myself actually resenting her HEA. Favorite character: the barbaric but mostly harmless laird who sets the stories in motion by kidnapping prospective brides for his embarrassed nephews. I enjoyed Susan Duerdon's narration, for the most part, but her female characters were almost impossible to distinguish from one another when sharing a conversation.

I hesitate to call this boring, because all three authors and the narrator do a competent job. However, when forgot to put this audiobook on pause while on the phone, then went back to it realizing I had missed several minutes of the second story, I didn't bother to go back and see what I had missed. That's pretty unusual for me.

    A pretty piece of fluff.

    A Delightful Romp!

Where does The Lady Most Willing... rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is a favorite that I will be listening to again and again. Beautifully written and very funny.

Have you listened to any of Susan Duerden’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have to say that I picked this book primarily because of the narrator and secondly from the rave reviews. I loved the voice of Juliet in "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" so I was thrilled to discover other books narrated by Susan Duerden. She lived up to my expectation and her lovely accent and inflection made this book a delight.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I sure did but had real life interruptions like work and sleep.

Most willing to enjoy, but disappointed

The first story was ok, but the two others I didn‘t like. The change of personality of the hero in the second story was not credible. I skipped a few paragraphs because I didn‘t mind their story. Reluctantly I continued to the third story. I liked it a bit better than the second one, but all in all it was dissapointing. The first book by the three authors is much better.

I also didn‘t like the reader. She did use a breathy voice almost in the entire book, even when just narrating trivial plot.
