The town's clocks have stopped. Time has frozen. And only the boy who is always late can save it. Milo Finch is late for everything: breakfast, school, even his own birthday party. Which is a problem, because he lives in Tickwell, the most punctual town in the world, where every clock ticks in perfect time with the Great Clock in the tower. Every night at two minutes to midnight, the mysterious Keeper of Clocks, old Mr Ambrose Pendle, climbs 365 steps with his lantern to wind it. He has never once been late. Until the night of the storm. Raindrops hang frozen in the air. Lightning stops mid-flash. Everyone in Tickwell stands as still as a statue. Everyone except Milo, because the silver pocket watch Mr Pendle gave him is still ticking. With the help of Sprocket, a chatty clockwork sparrow, Milo has just one hour to find three magical lost gears, the Wheels of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, and wind the Great Clock before time stops forever. But to succeed, the boy who always rushes will have to learn the Keeper's greatest secret Perfect for children aged 610, The Keeper of Clocks is: A magical, heartwarming adventure, ideal as a bedtime story or a first chapter book Told in 8 short, exciting chapters, great for reading aloud or reading alone A gentle story about patience, paying attention, kindness and family Full of wonder: a frozen town, a clockwork bird, a secret tower and a ticking race against time If your child loves magical adventures with a big heart, this is a story they'll want to read again and again, one tick at a time.
