À propos de ce contenu audio

From the author of the critically acclaimed What Alice Forgot comes a breakout new novel about the secrets husbands and wives keep from each other.

Three women. One secret. And a letter that will change everything—forever.

Tess. Rachel. Cecilia. Three women living three very different lives. But when Cecilia opens up a Pandora’s box, their lives will intersect in ways none of them could foresee.

Cecilia is the woman who seems to have it all: a successful career, a gorgeous husband, and three wonderful daughters. One day she finds an old tattered letter in the attic that’s addressed to her, to be opened only in the event of her husband’s death. But he’s still very much alive. When Cecilia casually mentions it to him on the phone, he laughs it off, telling her to put the letter away. Yet when he flies home early from an overseas business trip, and then frantically searches for the letter, Cecilia realizes there’s something important in it, something she needs to know. Yet even Pandora herself could not prepare Cecilia for what the letter reveals.

Not my usual style of reading material. Liane Moriarty's novels are very well noted so I thought this could be a nice change. I may well go on and read some more but I have to say that I am not a fan of Australian accents - the main text reading was OK but some of the dialogue and conversations were quite annoying - sorry ! I may well resort to just reading her books and not liste, ing to them on Audible . Are they all read by the same person ? I'll check before ordering another one .

    Light hearted story .

    Thank you Audible for this.
My fellow Audible listeners, if you enjoy classic litterature with a contemporary flavor, and if you have ever been married and/or have children, this is a clever, funny, interesting, insightful, moving and wonderfully well written report of what it means and feels like.
And the reader is perfect; not too much, not too little of anything. Perfect performance, fluent, alive, perfectly well balanced.
I am French, I don't know how well Moriarty is translated into french, but the pleasure i derive from her Austen-and-Roth like prose is addictive.
    Enjoy!

A great great great novel read by a great great reader
