Description
The New York Times best-selling authors of The Home Edit and stars of the upcoming Netflix series Get Organized with The Home Edit teach you how to apply their genius, holistic approach to your work life, on-the-go necessities, and technology.
At home or on the go, you don't have to live like a minimalist to feel happy and calm. The Home Edit mentality is all about embracing your life - whether you're a busy mom, a roommate living with three, or someone who's always traveling for work. You just need to know how to set up a system that works for you.
In the next phase of the home-organizing craze, Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin go beyond the pantry and bookshelf to show you how to contain the chaos in all aspects of your life, from office space and holiday storage to luggage and pet supplies. Get to know your organizing style, tailor it to your family's lifestyle, and lead the low-guilt life as you apply more genius ideas to every aspect of your life.
Clea and Joanna are here to remind you that "it's okay to own things" in the quest for pretty and smart spaces. With The Home Edit Life, you'll soon be corralling phone cords, archiving old photos, arranging your phone apps by color, and packing your suitcase like a pro.

The narrator’s voice though....
The narrator’s general reading voice is fine. But when she tries to use different voices/inflections/quips that you could hear Clea and Joanna saying it’s super cringey.

Not the least bit helpful
I really thought this book would help me get motivated to organize my home!?! I was hoping for fresh ideas and good, helpful suggestions! It did not help to hear how they organized the rich and famous’s overflow and excessive purchases of shoes and handbags, etc. Nor could I relate to organizing hundred of heavy, basketball shoes. What a waste of my time!!! Kept waiting for just one surprising tip...maybe you should just refer to the pictures on their Instagram page. Don’t waste your money OR your Audible credit.

Narrator was impersonal
The first book narrated by Clea and Joanna was much better. More personal. I just couldn’t get past the voice. It was more difficult to keep up.

4 and 5 stars
I LOVE the book itself. I just wish Clea and Joanna were reading it. It doesn’t sound right with someone else’s voice. Not that the person reading it did bad job, I just prefer hearing Clea and Joanna as I listen to their podcast and watch their show. That’s why I gave it 4 stars overall.

spoiler alert: create plastic waste!
the home edit franchise manages to impart no actual organizing tips but instead just funnels you into their Walmart plastic organizer franchise. read this book and take their advise and you will end of with a storage room full of plastic junk you have no idea where to put or how to use. the book and their products are wasteful garbage. they don't even try to teach actual organizing tips. look to the minimalism and zero waste content creators instead. the secret to organizing your home is learning to minimize your junk, not buy more. the best book on organizing is "the clutter bug" or "goodbye things".

Couldn’t Finish: Narrator is terrible
Would give zero stars and ask for a refund if I could.
I could not listen to the first chapter of this book. It should probably be read as a hard copy. I was expecting it to discuss the philosophy behind organizing and why it matters but I may never know because I couldn’t stand the voice of the narrator.

Finally Fits!
I've long used color when organizing my home. With paperwork, pets, finances and everything from A-Z.
When I first say the ladies on Frey Barrymore show I knew they were the missing link for me.
We are empty-nested for a couple decades, moved several times and argued many times with my kids that I'm not throwing things out that make me happy!
Their philosophy is the exact message Ive been trying to live. Can't wait for the workbook!
