Twenty-three years ago, Julian Rooke was expected at Blackthorn House.
His room was prepared. His suitcase was waiting.
But Julian never arrived.
Years later, Elspeth Vane inherits the isolated country house and discovers an old guest ledger containing Julian’s name followed by eight mysterious visitors. Each left behind an object—and another piece of the truth.
Told through nine interconnected mystery stories, the trail leads Elspeth through conflicting memories, hidden rooms, altered records, false identities, and secrets buried within her own family.
Blackthorn was not left to her by chance.
Someone wanted its secrets found.
Because the real question is no longer why Julian Rooke disappeared.
It is who arrived in his place.
An atmospheric mystery of nine interconnected stories, where every visitor brings Elspeth closer to the truth.
