No stranger to adversity, Liam Ryan has also cheated death. He kept himself and his twin sister safe through a tough childhood in the foster-care system. Then, at age 24, he took his first trip abroad and was blown up and presumed dead in a terrorist attack. Three years later an investigator locates him working as a security guard in Jerusalem.

Joe’s sister, Teresa, fleeing a broken engagement and her controlling mother, also comes to stay. Especially when she becomes suspiciously accident prone and in need of a protector.
