High on a Czechoslovak hill, the Landauer House shines as a wonder of steel and glass. This radiant 1930s house, with its unique Glass Room, quickly tarnishes as the storm clouds of WW2 gather. The house passes from hand to hand, from Czech to Russian, and bears witness to both the best and the worst of the history of Eastern Europe.©2009 Simon Mawer (P)2010 Recorded Books LLC Historical Fiction

I loved to listen to the story. First I had fears that it ended in a terrible tragedy, but I was mistaken. Great idea to bring the story always back to the glass room even though the author went with the erotic scenes for my taste a bit too far. The history aspect is interesting as little is written about the second world war in that country. Absolute recommend.
