I kind of liked the story but I regret not having bought the book to read it myself. That French accent is not only irritating but bad. A French person(I am one...) speaking English will naturally pronounce "had" or "happy" as "ad" and "appy" and never say "head" or "heppy" as the narrator does. Just saying...And I found the Liv character very irritating. Why would someone risk so much money for a painting . Not at all believable. I expected better from J. Moyes

why the so called French accent during the first part of the book. The French names are not even pronounced in the right way (Im French). I dont see why Sophie's story couldnt be read in English and not in this awful French accent. I almost gave up ..
