After discovering the shocking secret buried deep within The Green, Violet has a grave decision to make.

Trust the woman who saved her, or not?

So far, everything about the woman has taken Violet by surprise. Her behavior has been honest and upfront - a refreshing change for Violet. Besides, with one of her loved ones hanging on life support and the other close to falling completely out of reach, Violet doesn't exactly have a lot of choice.

Her only way forward is to embark on a dicey excursion. For this, she knows, she needs the Liberators' help - and must be prepared to take whatever risks that come with.

But what neither she nor any of her new Liberator comrades can prepare for is just how deep the lies of their homelands run....

This book keeps you on the edge of your seat

I am loving this series. You are on the edge if your seat. The story and plot is so well thought of. Can't wait to read book 4.

It just never ends

What disappointed you about The Gender Lie?

The first book in the series started off good. It had good flow and reasonable challenges. Great chemistry and a fun twist. Book two I had to push through, and this one I'm surprised my eyes didn't get stuck in the back of my head. I tried so hard to like them but it just never stopped. And it doesn't look like it will stop anytime soon.

Would you ever listen to anything by Bella Forrest again?

No, I love book series, but not all stories have enough "umph" to get passed two or three books. I will have to return the series, honestly it was just too much bleh. I tried.

What does Rebecca Soler and Jason Clarke bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Good question, I enjoyed these two, honestly I don't think I could have read it without them.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Book one.

Any additional comments?

I hate being so negative!!!!! I was so excited about the series, but it just fell flat and kept right on going. :(

This is the book I stopped reading/listening at

I couldn't keep reading after this point. I really enjoyed the first book and where it went, and then the second book grated on me and now I am stopping at the end of this book, especially after finding out there are like 5 more books? The world is not made well enough for me to be invested in the main character overcoming this dystopia. It's like a bad Hunger Games type of story except the bad guy keeps changing. The main character seems to have become a COMPLETELY different person than in the first book? I'm not interested enough to keep reading and I warn others to not even start or just read the first book and then cliffnotes the books after.

Slower than the first two

This book was not as riveting as the two before it. It had its moments at the beginning, but I soon found that I couldn't wait til it was over, so that I could start the next one. Hopefully #4 will be better. I'm not giving up on the series yet.

Drab and full of overused words

I've really enjoyed the rest of the series but this book fell so short I can't continue with it. The author overuses words like smirk to the point that it is hard to not roll your eyes.

Stop Smirking

Lots of complexities added many layers of interest. I didn't see the plot twists and they made the story enthralling. However, the author needs a thesaurus and a bit of imagination as the overuse of the verb "smirk" became almost intolerable (almost because I am quickly getting the next book in the series).

How to stretch 1 book into 7.....

Extremely wordy and spends way too much time on one incident. Book 2 was bad but I had to put audible on 2x speed so I could get through book 3. Book 3 ends up in basically the same place it started so don’t bother.

Starting to lose interest

I like the story line between Violet and Viggo. So, this book made me lose a little interest in the series. There is a lot of action, which is nice, but I am beginning to get bored with this series.

Lacks Depth

I think that the underlying story is fantastic, but I wish there was more thought put into the characters. Vigo is turning into a very 2D character. Violet is okay, but isn't believable as a character based on her past. It's turning into another one of those "teenagers save the universe by somehow being give all this authority" stories. It just is very predictable and lacks depth.
I won't be reading the next one.

Bad writing and over dramatic narrator

I did not like this book, or the series. I got to this book and just couldn't take it anymore. The book is poorly written, using the same words over and over. The female narrator was way to over dramatic on times that shouldn't be. It was hard to get through the book. Very unfortunate because I enjoy the storyline.
