Not enjoyable

Narrator was good. Story, not so much. Not long enough to make sense. Perhaps if this was a longer novel, developing characters it would have made more sense

Literally the worst

Oh my God. This was the worst book I have ever read or listened to. I could only get 3/4 of the way through. Never did figure out what the plot was really about. The book was boring and the narrator worse. Only two speaking characters in the story and the reader had the same dreary voice for both. Her voice just droned on. I had to delete it from my device and go watch TV just to keep from killing myself! The short summary of the story you read to learn what the book is about was far more interesting than the story.

I'm honestly still not sure what the garden is, but honestly, I don't think it's anything good. it felt like she was walking to her death. I may listen again to be more clear.

Could’ve Wasted 25 Minutes Scrolling the Internet

I didn’t go into this thinking it would be 5 stars or even 4, but whew boy I did not expect it to be a 2 star and I’m being generous at that. At the end I was left with a what the heck did I just read. I wasn’t a particular fan of the narrator. The pausing during the poetry readings was a bit excessive and took me even further out of the story. And, if I’m being honest I didn’t care what happened to Leina after she got to the garden; especially when she asked the guide which parent does he hate. It’s seems to me that Leina has some unresolved mommy issues and mommy trauma. Maybe this story had good bones, but it was definitely too short to make any sense out of why Leina went to the garden.

Uh, what?

Uh, this was a weird short story. I suppose, the 2.89 average rating star should have clued me in. But I reasoned that it was only 44 pages, I could give it a try. I wasn't into the severe repetition of the prose. Hm, maybe I should read more poetry and less crime fiction/domestic thrillers.

Waste of Time

The repetitive nature of this writing was super annoying. And the tilted delivery made it worse. What the heck for the ending. I want that 30 minutes of my life back.

Not the best

This was not the best short story I have read recently. And I was expecting a lot more which makes me sad. I hope the rest of the shorts are a little better.
