Description
Ciaphas Cain returns! As the tyranids ravage the jungle moon on which he is stationed, the Hero of the Imperium must do the unthinkable and ally with the sinister dark eldar.
As the Tyrannic Wars sweep across the face of the Eastern Fringe, Cain and Jurgen find themselves on the jungle moon of a gas giant, fighting off a splinter fleet. The world is uninhabited, but must be protected to prevent the tyranid advance threatening several nearby systems. The situation goes from bad to worse when Cain and the Catachans run into a force of insidious xenos, and the two factions are thrown into a temporary alliance purely to survive.
Can Cain defeat the tyranids and survive the deadly intentions of their dark allies?
Only time can tell!
A Ciaphas Cain audio drama by Sandy Mitchell. Performed by Jonathan Keeble, Harriet Kershaw, Angus King and Toby Longworth. Directed by Christian Dunn. Music composed by Jamie Robertson.

Worthy of a HERO OF THE IMPERIUM
While relatively brief, it's an entertaining bit of fun, especially for Ciaphas Cain fans. Very well done by a great cast, I only wish they'd do a full length story.

Good but short
Voice over was fantastic. Fun to listen to , just surprisingly short...
I quite enjoyed it overall. It really is a shame how fast it went by.

short but sweet
love the humor, very well made and witty. i'd recommend just paying for it as the credit wouldn't make sense to use.

Stephan Perring is Cains voice
The VA for Cain in this was fine, however Stephan Perring is undeniably Cain. The VA for this was too heroic, too movie star, perfect for a Space Marine or Inquisitor don't get me wrong, but not Cain. Even the sarcastic lines were delivered seriously, and felt wrong.
For a whole credit this isn't worth the listen, but for the price it's not bad.

Just roll with new voice actors & sound effects
Classic Ciaphus Cain short story. It is an hour listen.
The voice actors were different and they used sound effects, which is a fun change of pace from the main Cain books. It had the feel of a pulp fiction radio show. I enjoyed it thoroughly, as well as the other short Cain story Dead in the Water.

stopped listening 5 min in. Too rushed.
the narration sounds terrible. rushed, lifeless delivery and poorly blended sound effects makes it a chore to listen to. add to that, that it's only an hour. so I'd like my credit back thank you very much.

A whole credit for an hour, different narrator
Whoever’s idea it was to voice Cain with somebody other than Stephen Perring ought to be fired and never allowed to work in the business again. COMPLETELY different tone and vibe, doesn’t feel at all like listening to Cain. The voice actors are great but this was a poor decision to put together like this. Nobody wants to get used to a score of books with one voice and then have a completely different person voice the character for a SHORT one-shot. Not even an attempt to stay true to the rest of the series.
I don’t know who’s responsible for this, but I hope they’ll get chunky milk in their next bowl of cereal, because that’s what spending a credit on this title felt like.

Insane pricing for an hour of content
It is really Well done and fun to listen to. A really good audio drama, No doubt about that. But the price for an hour... whereas Audiobooks that cost the same, and often also feature multiple narrators, provide Entertainment for 10h+.... it is Just absurd. I bought it merely by accident, Not noticing the 57 Minutes Detail....

The sound design is an insult to your ears.
absolutely not worth listening to. all the time you have terrible background noise. often the noises dont even make sense.. like some medieval festival music starts in the middle of a fight, then you can almost not hear the voice actors.. whoever did the sound design please... listen to your work before you release it...
