Description

Increase profitability, elevate work culture, and exceed productivity goals through DevOps practices.

More than ever, the effective management of technology is critical for business competitiveness. For decades, technology leaders have struggled to balance agility, reliability, and security. The consequences of failure have never been greater - whether it's the healthcare.gov debacle, cardholder data breaches, or missing the boat with Big Data in the cloud.

And yet, high performers using DevOps principles, such as Google, Amazon, Facebook, Etsy, and Netflix, are routinely and reliably deploying code into production hundreds, or even thousands, of times per day.

Following in the footsteps of The Phoenix Project, The DevOps Handbook shows leaders how to replicate these incredible outcomes by showing how to integrate product management, development, QA, IT operations, and information security to elevate your company and win in the marketplace.

Highly recommend

Starting this book, I found devops a confusing term and didn't really know what it refered to. Thanks to this book, not only do I know what it is but also how to apply devops principles. Recommends for anyone wanting to understand devops, even if not from a technical background

Difficult to do as an Audio

This is an excellent book, but more of a working handbook. It's very tough to gain the knowledge and usefulness from this as an audiobook. I ended up buying the hard copy too.

excelente continuation to project phoenix

If you didn't read their previous book, don't worry, you should be able to read this book without any issues but I would suggest go and read it first, and then this.

It continues where the project Phoenix left filling more in the techniques and tools needed but without going deep in the use of any them (you'll need to read about those if what you look is to implement it, I would suggest go and read DevOps 2.0 as is more hands on) however Kim Gene and his troop give you the processes and higher level requirements you'll need to comprehend all about DevOps and overall the transformation that is needed inside the organization.

Great story and good narration. Highly recommended for any in the IT area or any medium to big organization.

A must-read for anybody involved in sowftware

This is the best book I have come across on overall best practices for delivering successful software. Lots of real world examples, not just theory.

Good place to start

A bit too heavy on the initialisms in the last chapter, about infosec, but over all a really good introduction to devops, using case studies to drive home the points.

Good Overview of DevOps Concepts

This is a great book for people working in a software development organization. This book would have been better for me if there were more information for those working in an IT where most solutions are purchased and configured. The anecdotal evidence of doing things a better way is very convincing.

Too much non value add talking

I like the topic, but the contents of this book is too much general topic and referencing to many other resources without giving a specific idea how to act.
The first hour no concept or approach was presented I could use. And after that it still was generic cross referencing without introducing own ideas or tools I could use.
The speaker was ok but not really energetic and did not catch my interest to read further.
I am very disappointed and will return this book, better reading some of the references given in the book.

Devops bible!

I loved this book! The narration is perfect! The content is amazing! Very well structured, it covers all aspects of devops, whys and hows. It also gives great, real life examples! Everyone involved in IT or working for a Tech company should read/hear it!
