What happens after you click “I agree”?
Rachel Voss works in compliance at Continuance, a digital estate company that manages online accounts after death. Her job is simple: confirm consent, verify documentation, and move on. She does not ask questions. She does not investigate outcomes.
Until a routine audit reveals something she can’t explain.
Post-mortem accounts are being sorted, analyzed, and quietly routed into research cohorts. Patterns emerge. Demographics align. And buried inside the fine print is a consent clause vague enough to hide something far more disturbing than data retention.
As Rachel digs deeper, she discovers that Continuance isn’t just studying the dead—it’s predicting the living. And the system is watching her, too.
Tense, methodical, and unsettling, The Consent Audit is a psychological tech thriller about surveillance, corporate ethics, and the quiet danger of systems that work exactly as designed.
