FAME, MONEY, AND THE STREETS GAVE ME EVERYTHING... Except peace.
From the rise of hip-hop in Southern Africa to the dark pull of Johannesburg's underworld, The Beginning is a gripping true account of life in the sleazy world of sex, money and drugs – where there's a fine line between glitz and gore.
What starts as music, brotherhood, and a dream quickly spirals into a fight for survival. Dodgy record deals, shady promoters, and the ruthless temptations of fame lead to a life driven by hustle, addiction, and dangerous choices.
Raw, wickedly funny, and shocking to the core, this is a rollercoaster — told by a master entertainer who lived every moment of it.
But beyond the chaos lies something deeper.
The Beginning is not just a story of downfall… it is a powerful journey of redemption, purpose, faith, and the courage to start again.
Tony Chihota is a pioneer of African hip-hop and Founder of the Nhumbi Lifestyle Movement, inspiring a generation to Wear Your Courage.
