Description
The disciples of the Machine God, the Cult Mechanicus are on the front line of the Quest for Knowledge. Tech-priests lead their forces of augmented warriors and battle-automata into battle with the Omnissiah's foes in defence of His secrets. Magos-Explorator Omnid Torquora orchestrates war against the Iron Warriors for control of a long-lost forge world. With skitarii legions and maniples of battle-servitors and robots at his command - not to mention the mighty god-machines of the Titan Legions - victory is within his grasp until treachery threatens to end his dreams of conquest.

Epic conclusion!!
This books is the 2nd part of the Skitarii book. Packed with batlles, heretics and dark mechanicus the conclusion to the expedition of Magos-Explorator Omnid Torquora is great!! I enjoyed more than the first book, and has gave me a greater vision on how an adepts mechanics battle force works. Must read if you like admech!!

Can’t believe they did my boi Stroika like that
Some times it really do be like that.
Other than that pretty decent book that is the other side of the coin compared to Skitarius.

Very enjoyable
i very much enjoyed this title, and the first book was awesome as well.
i would recommend these two books to anybody that loves warhammer 40k. I'd even suggest it to non-40k fans also.

A Good Listen Overall
Weak start, especially since it disconnects the reader from the Stroika Unit they followed through Skitarius. However, enjoyable in the long term the reader will grow to like Omnid if they give him time. An likeable enough character arc.
The reader does a fantastic job, carrying a sometimes bogged down story.

Another meh ending for the Mechanicum
It seems that the bulk of Mechanicum stories that I've read all end with the same meh ending. Everything, and everyone gets closure, but that's it. No promise of gaining anything good for the mechanicum. If anything just another net-negative loss for the faction, and humanity as a whole. The story is good, don't get me wrong. Just wish there was a direction towards an over-arching faction at play.

Baroque
The authors over-usage of the description baroque was especially annoying. Other than that, it was a good read but very short.

An insult to Admech fans
This is like a comic book without the pictures. Almost no character development or interesting plot; just "This guy died and then this exploded and then this fell over and then this crashed and then this and then that" like an annoying friend trying to give you the play-by-play of a Marvel movie action sequence.
Also take a shot every time the author says "baroque" if you would like to die of alcohol poisoning.
Toby Longworth does a phenomenal job though. Really gives some life to an otherwise watery book.

Good Book
I liked it quite a bit and while I was disappointed by a couple of revelations it's a very good story with some nice loose ends being tied up from the last book.

A few issues, but Praise the Omniessiah!
Better than the first book but still pretty average compared to other 40k books. Separating it into 2 books does hurt the overall narrative especially if someone only reads the first book.
The best part of both books is the fights! what it lacks in narrative complexity and really deep moments, it makes up for in action packed thrilling combat! Sanders does a great job using the Admech arsenal to create some of the most memorable action sequences in the Black Library! You really feel the terrifying power a single Skittarius or a blessed Tech Priest wields. While also showing how they forces of the Omniessiah wage war.
Despite the pretty linear story, some what repetitive descriptions and a few audio issues this series is great for anyone who loves the Admech or wants to get into the faction!

Better than the first book
This is one of those second book that even surpass their predecessor. Pure Action and a few unforseen incidents. A must for every 40k aficionado, otherwise perhaps not ;)
