Description

Felix would like nothing more than to take a vacation. A long one. One where he didn’t have to wake up every morning and worry over casualty lists for the day.

Ever since he and the Legion had been forced to flee their headquarters four years previous, nothing had gone quite right. In fact, Felix and the Legion have been locked in a shadow war with enemies unknown. Ones with magic that could carve through their technology easily.

As the rest of the world fell apart, tearing itself to pieces at every turn with the return of the old gods, the Legion has held the chaos back. The price in blood has been climbing slowly, lately.

Felix suspects there’s a change on the horizon. One that he hasn’t prepared or developed a plan for. Or so his paranoia has been telling him. That there’s a change coming now that’ll shake up the world. One that will turn it inside out, Legion and Felix along with it.

Felix has decided it’s time to push ahead and act. To finish things and protect his people at the same time. To take his Legion and make it safe.

Because that’s all that matters in the end to him. His Legion. And it always came first.

Warning and minor spoiler: This novel contains graphic violence, undefined relationships/harem, unconventional opinions/beliefs, and a hero who is as tactful as a dog at a cat show. Listen at your own risk.

Too Ambitious for Its Own Good

After listening to the Selfless Hero and Wild Waste series, it was evident the author was trying to incorporate all his series and possibly other author's in some kind of interconnecting universes. However, it's gotten to the point where I feel the author don't really know how to finish his own work. Everything just ends in a cliffhanger over and over again.

Super Sales on Super Heroes was possibly one of my top 10 series, but this third book really ruined it. It acted more of an after story for the series Wild Waste than it is a conclusion to Super Sales on Super Heroes. Almost half the book was focus on Felix's involvement with the other world. The focus of the characters shifted from the characters we know and love and focuses on characters taken from Wild Waste also. I am all for a harem set up, but this is ridiculous. The author spent 2 books to develop the relationships and romances of Felix and his women, then all of a sudden the author just throws in characters from Wild Waste, and they took over the show. The Andreas' adorable interactions and presence was all, but gone. No further development was given to Felix and Kit aside from a few short conversations. Miu was treated like nothing more than a pawn. And Lily, my favorite of all, was pushed to the side as some kind of a mistress rather than the leader of the girls as she always have been.

Secondly, unless you've read Wild Waste and Selfless Hero, a lot of characters and events feel out of place. It's almost a shameless ploy to make readers read these other series just to understand what is going on. If it was mentioned here and there, I wouldn't mind so much, but it was literally the focus of this last book.

And lastly, despite being the final book of the series, it leaves you with almost ZERO answers. Just another ploy by the author for the readers to invest into reading his future series whether it'll be bad or good. It's a bit insulting truth be told.

harem full steam ahead

Loved books 1 and 2 but this one starts getting really heavy into a massive harem and it is taking away from the story, sadly it looks like it will be even worse in book 4.

More Mythical Fantasy Than Super Anymore

The reason I started an Audible subscription was book one of this series. having said that, it was a bit of a chore to finish this one. With the merging of Arand's different universes, the fantasy elements have taken over and there's very little being done by the superhumans and too much elf, dragon, dryad stuff. Additionally, while there were traces of a harem in the other books, Felix has become a begrudging sex object to just about every female he knows in this book. It just got so tedious and the new characters didn't really stand out as individuals because of it beyond Felicity and Goldie.

Also, the series is falling heavily into a pattern. Set up new stuff > mysterious entity in charge of the government starts messing with Legion for reasons that have yet to be revealed > big mess of a battle at the end in which Felix doesn't use his power. In fact, the end of this one feels just like a rehash of book two.

Missing explanations and depth.

First off, i love the concept, and the story. But starting with book 1 to now book 3, there are so many loose ends. I'm missing explanations, character progress and a sense of understanding. It feels like the story is going from one extreme to another, which I think is a shame. The story is being told in a very nice way by Nick. I'm hoping the next book won't be so hastily made and will have more depth to it.

lost the rpg style writing

story line was great but what the first books had that was truly amazing was the detail in each person's upgrades and how it changed their powers it happens like 2-3 times in this book and it was just a touch and go.

Where are the heroes?

I'm afraid there was too much politicking to truly enjoy this one. although, it is nice to continue the cross universe story.

great performance, poor story

I loved the first two books in the series. they always had a bit of the teenage harem lonely guy fantasy in the background but it was easy to ignore. this book however all that is front and center. it really is a pity cause I loved the first two.

So close but no cigar..

Very interesting concept with exceptionally poor execution. The guy has a God like power. Has the God of gods literally rooting for him. An infinite amount of resources (Including people) and he spends half the book caught up in boring legal debacles.... And the other half is him trying to figure out why ALL other gods are suppressing him and his powers. But of corse they can’t actually do anything to him. A dozen literal GODS can’t stop one mortal dude.... He also just has copious amounts of women throwing themselves at him despite him being a complete bore outside of his superpower.
Everything seems like the author just wrote down all his teenage wet dreams and called it a book. All the power he could want. Endless money. And orgies at his beck and call.
I actually enjoyed the first book and was excited to see where the story went. Unfortunately the author seemed more concerned with throwing fan service at his readers instead of exploring any sort of deeper story.

Nothing changes

main character always knows what's best, is always right, can judge any other character by looking at them, most powerful human on the planet, every female wants to sleep with him, and every female just knows that he always makes the right decision. No character growth ...because he is perfect. Don't think I have ever wanted a main character to die so bad as this one.

off-track

book 1 and 2 were good, but book 3 is incredibly boring. All the defining elements from the first books have been removed. super powers mostly aren't even used.
