    Gritty and hard-hitting

A brilliantly written and dramatised no nonsense, police procedural series with great characters throughout. Also it doesnt shy from any sensitive issues plaguing UK and tackles them headon.

    Gritty. Grisly. Gruesome. Real. Heart-wrenching.

Stellar performances from an all star cast. Glad it was audio. Not sure I would have been able to handle video of some of the subject matter dealt with in this series. DCI Stone is wonderful character. I enjoyed making the journey with him, even when I wanted to tap him on the head for being an ass at times. I highly recommend this series to any fan of police procedurals with powerful story lines and lots of heart!

Surprised more people in US haven’t heard these !

I took a chance on this and loved it! It’s 4 stories radio dramas and it’s honestly the best series I’ve ever heard !
Stone is a realistic detective you quickly start to love ! There are sound effects , music etc it’s very much like listening to a play ! I listen while walking my dogs and this was much more fun than a normal book !
I got chills at Times bc of the suspense etc !
    Very dramatically acted out !
You get 4 short stores w same detective ! I esp liked the one w the Down syndrome actor ! I’ll buy everything this man produces! It’s that good !

    Great entertainment

I enjoy BBC full cast radio dramas. This is very enjoyable. So enjoyable I preordered the next offering. I had a little difficulty with some of the full cockney accents but not enough to obscure the meaning or detract from the story.

Biblical inerrancy to prove biblical inerency.

Very disappointing. the author Begins by explaining that he has no intention objectively looking at the information in the Book of John. He simply says that everything is perfectly correct and then proceeds to prove it is perfectly correct by random quotes from other places in the book and elsewhere in the Bible.

Accents aside, very difficult to listen to

Being an avid audiobook listener, I've grown accustomed to adapting to different narrators, sometimes multiple narrators in the same story, and some stories with big-budget music scores and sound effects. So, you'd think I'd be able to adapt to a modern-day effort of a radio drama. Not so much. The pacing feels rushed in some parts, and dragging (as if waiting for another actor/narrator to find their place on the script) in others. The sound effects are frequently distracting to the point where you can't hear the dialogue (baby crying). I tried to listen to the first two hours, but could go no further. The story was not interesting, the acting was well-attempted but failed miserably, and the overall quality of the production makes me wonder if this was the production team's first project (and was there no oversight?). Full cast? Would have fooled me. They sounded like the same man and woman doing different voices. Confusing. Frustrating. Boring. Recommend passing on this one.

    it's just ok .

it's like listening to an old radio show. I prefer more twists and mysteries just wasn't my cup if tea but narrators were very good.
