Description

A "sourcerer" is born in Discworld - a wizard so powerful that he makes all other magicians look like a bunch of fools in pointy hats. Now, suddenly, Discworld is brought to the brink of an all-out thaumaturgical war. The only hope for peace is Rincewind, the failed magician who has a risky plan to save the world. He enlists the help of several odd new characters, including Conina the barbarian hairdresser, Nijel the Destroyer, and a yuppie genie who sees lamps as a growth industry.

This is the fifth book in the Discworld series.

Sourcery (Unabridged)

Certainly one of Terry Pratchett's best novels. I laughted all thru the listening (the narrator helped a lot here). It does not depend on a detailed knowledge of Pratchett's characters to enjoy. Some of his other books are best enjoyed once you are familiar with them.

Wonderful Story Brilliant Narration

This is the 5th book in Disk-World series. I have read all the series And fallen in love with them all over again by listening to the totally brilliant narration skills of Nigel Planner. I've laughed far more than when first read, in pure joy at the voices used and the delivery. We've all laughed til we cried at many a turn of phrase.
Your family will fall in love too,
there are even dragons

Great for the whole family too, everyone will fall in love with the storylines and VOICES in the eventful lives of evert character.
All will delight you all.

Some of the Best Narration of the series (in my opinion)
Witches Abroad
The Colour Of Magic

Disappointing

The sound quality is awful with the volume increasing suddenly at times. Really a shame because the books are awesome. Love the Tony Robinson versions but they are too short

Sound quality 90%

An excellent story -just like everything else from Terry Pratchett.
Nigel Planer is just the right person to read it and is the only voice for Rincewind.

The production not perfect at keeping the sound the same between different recording sessions.

I do like it that all the footnotes are read in in a different tone.

Everything is great except the tacky sound effects

The book is terrific and so is the narration. But sound effect of Death's voice is horrible. It is as if Death is talking through a megaphone. What's worse, the transition between a character's voice and Death's voice is not seamless. It is the equivalent of a bad photoshop job. Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and this flaw should not deter you from listening to a gem.

Well read, great book

The book itself was great as have all Discworld books I've read, Nigel was excellent as the narrator and was clear and easily understood. Full props to him for that.
