Description
A showrunner and her assistant give the world something to talk about when they accidentally fuel a ridiculous rumor in this debut romance.
Hollywood powerhouse Jo is photographed making her assistant Emma laugh on the red carpet, and just like that, the tabloids declare them a couple. The so-called scandal couldn't come at a worse time - threatening Emma's promotion and Jo's new movie.
As the gossip spreads, it starts to affect all areas of their lives. Paparazzi are following them outside the office, coworkers are treating them differently, and a “source” is feeding information to the media. But their only comment is "no comment".
With the launch of Jo’s film project fast approaching, the two women begin to spend even more time together, getting along famously. Emma seems to have a sixth sense for knowing what Jo needs. And Jo, known for being aloof and outwardly cold, opens up to Emma in a way neither of them expects. They begin to realize the rumor might not be so off base after all...but is acting on the spark between them worth fanning the gossip flames?

Not My Cup of Tea
This book was average but it took until the final hour for any “romance” to actually take place. I get this is a novel but a good portion of the book was this back and forth that could have taken half the time to get the point across. I also didn’t like the voice of Emma - she sounded like a weak woman most of the time and some of her phrases were something I’d expect from a 16 year old.

So gay, sooo good
If you’re a wlw who’s looking for something real to sink your teeth into, look no further. This story had me gasping, blushing, and jumping up and down. 10/10 would read again.

Excellent slow burn.
First time listening to the work of this author and I must say I loved it. The narrators also added another dimension to this book both were smooth and engaging.

Something to talk about
Overall it was just okay for me
I thought Emma was acting like a teenager some parts of the book .
One minute she gets jealous that Jo is out with a old friend \ co star the next she thinks Jo is in a romantic relationship with her best friend
I mean Emma is 27 not 16 again the book was just okay sometimes I figured they were better off friends then lovers.

Wow this was slow
I expected this book to be so much more fun than it was. The relationship between the two main characters just took forever to warm up. There were so many rounds of waiting for each of them to figure out their feelings, it just felt like it would never end.

A Slow, slow burn
I had high hopes for this one. I haven't read very many sapphic books prior so I was excited about this romance.
But I felt like I was waiting, and waiting, and waiting for anything to actually happen between the two. I don't even consider it a slow burn because other than a few tiny moments their relationship didn't scream attraction.
Also, I was hoping for some F/F smut. There was one scene that was a small, bit smutty, but not enough. Oh, and placing said scene...
It felt like it was just suddenly wrapped up quickly after being drug out forever.
As for the Narrators, I don't have much to say except the woman voicing Emma sounded amazing when she wasn't talking as if she was Emma.

Seriously?
The MC is 27? I’d say her maturity level was around 16, at best. This dragged on forever and lacked passion. Xe is an incredible narrator, though. I wish she’d had the most air time.

oh god i LOVED IT
so many comments complained over the way too slow burn, and yeah, i admit it was longer than usual BUT OMG IT WAS SO WORTH IT. I loved them as a couple and romance, but this book had so much more and i loved been able to see that too. I truly loved it and will probably re read it jaja

An uncomfortable read
There romance is completely overshadowed by homophobia, press drama and sexual harassment happening in the side plot.
The Two narrators dont mix very well either. Each shift in PoV is jarring as you have to get used to their very different styles.

So slow it made me angry
I liked the book at the beginning. But it takes so crazy long for them to get their feelings… and all this back and forth is really boring. Joe made me even really angry…

Was okay
The story was cute and entertaining but it felt dragged out. It was too long for the action that took place. I feel bad saying this but the narrator for Emma made me almost want to stop listening right away. She sounded like a teenage girl, overpronouning words and I can’t even describe what rubbed me the wrong way. I will avoid her narration in the future.
