Daylen, once known as the Great Bastard, the Scourge of Nations, Dayless the Conqueror, has lived in hiding since his presumed death. Unbeknownst to him he’s about to embark on a journey towards redemption where his ruthless abilities might save the world. Everfall is a world of perpetual day where the continents float in an endless sky. If one jumps from the continent they will fall for many hours before returning to the same place from which they fell. Skyships rule the air powered by shining sunstone and industrial darkstone. A legendary order of knights bears mystical powers which they use to hunt out the dreaded shade, monsters that regular people turn into if trapped in darkness for the length of a fall.

It is a world of enchanted swords, merciless monsters, mystical knights, and hard magic, filled with tales of wonder and adventure.

I wrote a whole a$$ critique, and it vanished before I could send it. Audible you blackened bastard! Great book, first time flaws to forgive, lookin forward to the continuation of the Chronicles of Everfall.

The voice actors are perfect very experienced and could not have been better. The story is a very interesting mix of magic, ww2 references, medieval fighting and a great plot! The first chapter is a bit slow and difficult but once you have passed it, the rest of the story is great! Would absolutely recommand and will buy the next book. plus I highly recommand the youtube channel of the author.

I'm always a bit wary with series and authors that are new to me because some are really not that good.
this story however is really well written, the characters are consistent in their personalities and motivations. I see minor flaws in the MC being frankly careless in hiding his true identity but that is at least somewhat due to circumstances.

being french I'm not super happy about the clear parallel with Napoleon, as there's some transferred elements that are 100% British propaganda but I understand that is not intended as smearing.

some people criticize the information dumps that happen a couple of times in the first half of the book. that is true but not really a hindrance of you ask me. the author has a YouTube channel where he discusses medieval weapons, armours and castles, stuff like that. So you can recognize his way to explain things which was pretty funny to me.

thanks to that the magic system in his world is really well though of and allow for twist that work very well in the story.

I would definitely read more works in the same world ☺️

I found myself completely submerged by the world building, the story, the character building is incredible and the reading of Dayless letter at the start of each chapter was a genius trick, creating a flashback vibe. i loved it!!! Can't wait for the second book
