Description
They call me Sexy Six.
Cocky? Absof--kinglutely.
Sexy? That's what they say.
Unstoppable? You bet your ass.
NFL golden boy, Super Bowl MVP, and the league's hottest player - on and off the field. To most, I'm a celebrity, with the records to prove it.
Fame, fortune, family...I've got it all.
Except Grace Monroe.
Two years ago, Grace turned my world upside down with just one look. I didn't stand a chance against the shy, southern beauty with the radiant violet eyes. Our intense connection was unlike any force I've ever faced. Then she disappeared, without a word, leaving me with nothing but questions, a handful of memories, and a lifetime of what-ifs.
Now she's back, and so much more than the girl I once knew. Stunning, successful, and sexy as sin, she's my fantasy come true.
One taste, one touch, one moan, and I'm addicted.
Grace is the game changer I never saw coming. Everything I've ever wanted is finally within reach.
Suddenly, I'm playing the most important game of my life...a game where losing isn't an option.
Because this time...winning means forever.

Great !!
this was a great and adorable story. It didn't have a lot of angst which was a nice surprise. A lot of books I have listened to lately seem to have a lot of angst and undecided/ indicisive characters. I love how the couple knew without a doubt how much they loved each other and did their best to show it. This was my first book by this author and will definitely be trying more books. the narration was very passionate but got a little over-the-top at times

Male narrator... just NO!
Could not finish this book. The male narrator was just plain Bad which I tried to listen through, but when the story turned stupid, I had to quit...... which I rarely do.

Narrated by: Morais Almeida (aka Nick 'Sexy Six') and Shannon Gunn (aka Grace Monroe)
Writing style: Dual POVs (Nick & Grace)
Ratings explained in further detail
Story ★☆☆☆☆
I listened for 2.5 hours straight initially and found myself rewinding more than I like to do because I was confused about character details and relationships. I chalked this down to the author's writing style since I wasn't doing anything else while listening other than walking outside.
I hate to DNF a novel, but I honestly struggled to become invested in Nick and Grace's 2nd chance romance. After 3 or so hours into this novel, I finally decided to skip to the last 21 minutes which is the epilogue chapter just to see how their story ended. Obviously, they got a HEA ending, but I still didn't feel inspired to go back and listen to hours 3 -11 to find out the details.
Performance by Morais Almeida ★★☆☆☆ because I just didn't care much for the voices he chose for most of the characters
Performance by Shannon Gunn ★★★★☆ She had a nice subtle Southern American accent for Grace, thank goodness. Strong regional accents are difficult for my ears to appreciate. And overall, I liked her voice acting style for both genders she brought to life.
Overall ★★½ courtesy of Shannon Gunn's stellar audiobook performance bringing up the average for overall rating.

So disappointed
The male narrators female voice was... well, he could use som practise.
But this story. The characters were so .. blah. Nothing about them stands out, do idiosyncrasies or anything.
Spoiler: the H loses the hs trust because he lies and break up with her. Take away her choices. The only solution must be to force her to spend two days with her. He then thinks he'd do anything for her forgiveness and proceed to tell her he does not need to listen to her. So he has no idea about the direction her career is going, and when he finds out he blames her for thing years ago. They have no contact for a month, he shows up and they marry.
I mean come on. No on in this relationship has any respect for her. No one.

Terrible narrators
I couldn't finish the audiobook. The male voice was just awful. He had Mathas voice sound like his was punched in the nose . It was beyond horrible.

Awful Narrators
Although the story was good, the voices ruined it. The southern accent was a joke and so childish.

Typical fare lackluster performance
Girl meets boy of her dreams, family tragedy strikes girl loses boy. Years later they miraculously reconnect. Okay so this is a typical premise for these types of books. With the right words and a proper performance, it would not be an issue.
However, this is not the case here. The storyline is weak and the performances weaker. The girl part is a stereotypical southern belle with the hope of a sexy whisper helping. Spoiler alert, it did not. the male part is just not suited for romance. The voice sounds like a 50-year-old male who is speaking through a kazoo. Not to mention his inflections are off and the emotions attempted fall flat. Granted I could not do better, which is why I do not try.
The good thing it was a free op from Escape. Bad thing is, unfortunately, that is the only good thing I can say about the book. save your time for something stronger.
