It was a pretty good read!
I really enjoyed this book. It wasn’t a cliché historical romance novel. The plot was different. Even towards the end, when I thought I knew the way the storyline was gonna go, it surprised me and got even better. Worth the credit!

Another Kleypas excellent book narrated so well by one of the finest and one of my favorites.
This is an enchanting and captivating writing of love, difference, devotion, mystery. The development and description of the characters is superb. The descriptions of the environs is very commendable and puts the listener on the site. The storyline and sequence keeps one unable to leave and provides a great learning opportunity of another time and place.

Disappointed
I usually love the combination of Lisa Kleypas' words and Rosalyn Landor's voice. This book was disappointing. The first 18 chapters were tedious to listen to. Things improved slightly at chapter 19, which is where I wish this one had started.

Better the 2nd time around!
There’s some good story writing here that I definitely missed on the first read. Loved Win; her quiet strength and determination, and the willingness to understand those she loved was so emotionally appealing. Landor, as always brings the story to another level- her narration is the Best. Wish LK used her for all her audiobooks!

Wow, I thought Julia Quinn was good!!!
Not taking away from JQ, but man, I don't think I cried and laughed this much. Absolutely worth the read or listen. And of course, Rosalyn Landor is superb.

First was better
I must say I did not like this book as much as the first. i guess it's because I didn't like the characters as much and also thought at some points of the story that some of the character's action were a bit weird. But I still liked it overall and especially because I am a big fan of the series!
