Animals are mutating, people are dying, and the last polar shift occurred at the same time the dinosaurs died out. This story will have readers contemplating which way their internal compasses point.
"Could a magnetic shift much like the one theorized to send the dinosaurs into extinction be around the corner? Resonance: Earth is Overdue... is a fictionalized doomsday scenario that follows Dr. Jordan Abellard and Dr. Jillian Brookwood. With few believing their claims, they are faced with the task of finding some way to save the human race from the same fate as their distant reptilian cousins. "Resonance: Earth is Overdue..." is an action packed thriller, highly recommended for community library collections." (Midwest Book Review)
"Brilliant! I could not put this book down. The characters are believable and complex, the science is intriguing, and the plot kept me transfixed! Fasten your seatbelt and hang on for the ride. What a treat!" (H. Debord, Amazon Reviewer)
Ce que les auditeurs disent de Resonance
I liked the story overall, but the special effects such as the transitional music, phones ringing and other sounds were very jarring to me.
I tried lying back, relaxing and just listening to the story, but the sound effects were often so startling that I was jerked out of my mellow state with my heart beating fast. I take call at the hospital, so any phone ringing or beeper paging causes an adrenaline surge!
The content was modern, but the sound effects made me think of a 1940s radio story. The contrast was disconcerting.
Most of the narrators were fine--many of the "regulars".

I'm a techno-thriller guy, really into Micheal Chricton style books. That being said, I enjoyed this book, and don't regret using a credit on it. I did feel the author got a little too wordy explaining the most mundane things in the book, and I had to laugh at some of the ridiculous lengths the audiobook producers went to to try and spice things up (sound effects, different voices for every character, etc). However, the narration was generically good, and the plot was interesting, albeit I was disappointed with the ending. If you're into techno-thrillers, thing one is worth getting. I'd be willing to read a sequel, if there was going to be one.

Fun listen and great acting.
What did you love best about Resonance?
I used to work with the author so that is the only reason I pick this on audible but I am glad. The voice acting was great. I loved the use of multiple narrators. One of my biggest complaints about audio books is that if there is a mid chapter scene change in a book there is usually a few empty lines but many audio books do not pause to indicate this and that can be confusing at times. The use of multiple narrators in this book solved that problem. The sound effects were distracting at first but once I got into the book I didn't mind them as much.

WHy, oh why the sound effects?
Have you ever watched a made for television B movie drama in which the background music relentlessly tries to narrate every scene? There's a bit of that here. Clearly the makers of this production did not feel confident that the story itself could make it on its own, so had to go WAY over the top with the music and sound effects and multiple narrators, some of which are just adequate. All those narrators and yet it often sounds like someone is reading me a story, not like a performed piece. They should have just gotten one great, tried and true narrator and a good director, like so many audio book sucesses do. Else they could have made it a proper dramatic performance, rather than a broken up mess with various narrators - like kids taking turns reading aloud in class. Its a decent story, but I was so constantly annoyed and distracted by the ridiculous production of it that I couldn't realy focus on it... Really distracting stuff. I advise you to buy the written version if the story sounds good to you.
