Description

Razer Station is one of the most notorious stations in the galaxy. Criminals, con artists, freaks, rebels, junkies, and smugglers inhabit the space station that floats at the outer edge of civilization.

It's Roak's kind of place.

But, Roak isn't on Razer for a little R&R; he's there on a job.

For Roak, it should be an easy job - track down an old tech that has been targeted by several corporations and deliver the tech to the corporations.

Except Razer Station is never that accommodating and Roak's easy job quickly turns into a nightmare battle for survival and a race across the station before it all goes up in flames.

The third chapter in the Roak saga continues with more grit, more grime, and more bodies than ever. Roak is pissed and gunning for anyone and everyone that dares get in his way!

Surprised by the ending

So I have to admit I was expecting the same old same old story ends and instead he actually gave a good cliff hanger. I was pleasantly surprised.

This honest review was given in trade for a copy of the audio book

Another great story from Jake Bible!

I throughly enjoy Roak's sense of humor and sarcastic wit. The banter he shares with his ship's AI. makes me smile. The story has some twists and turns, and left me wanting more. Andrew B. wehrlen's voice is a perfect complement to Roak, I can't imagine anyone else reading it. And now I have to find the next book to find out what happens.

Razer Edge

I love the banter between Roak and Hessa. I enjoy this series a lot. I really enjoyed Andrew's performance. He is one of my favorite narrators and has improved a great deal since I have started listening to his work. I received this audio book for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.

Another great Roak romp!

OK, I am a fan of both Jake Bible and Andrew Wehrlen and I am not ashamed to say it.

Razer Edge is another great space romp featuring the irrepressible Roak and a cast of wacky characters. What I like most about Bible's novels is the range of different characters and species he can dream up and how he seems to seamlessly weave them into the story.

Yep, there was probably a bit too much wanton violence in this one, but it is done in good humour and in no way detracts from the tale. The only downside for me is that the story doens't have a clean ending and it leaves us waiting on Roak's next outing for a conclusion to his current problems. Nothing wrong with another Roak tale though.

As always Andrew Wehrlen does a great job on narration, keeping the pace right, separating the main character voices and generally luring us through the story.

Finally, I want to thank the author/narrator for providing me this book, free of charge, in return for an unbiased review.

Roak always gets paid

Roak always gets paid but what happens when that payment is stolen? Roak is offered a job too good to refuse. It leads him to an out of the way space station, a war that apparently wants a certain professor. Allies
Will lie, friends will betray friends, skraang, galactic assassin and more. One hell of a great storyline.

Mindless action. Got repetitive.

What disappointed you about Razer Edge?

I had read book 2 of this Roak series and had liked that one. I have read few other books from Jake Bible and liked those too. But in this current book I was mostly disappointed because of the plot repetition. The hero again goes on a high-risk-high-reward mission and what follows is exactly as what you would expect from a high-octane action movie. There almost non-stop mindless action scenes where everyone but Roak dies and our hero moves on to the next fight. Even when he gets injured, medicine is at hand and then onto the next battle and so on.

And then the book ends in a cliffhanger. Ugggh.

What could Jake Bible have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Instead of endless battles, I would've like to see normal life on the space station or lives of the different characters involved. The battles should've been less in number and there should've been more at stake, with real consequences.

Any additional comments?

Another fun ride!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was another fun, intergalactic adventure story with the infamous bounty hunter, Roak. I especially like how each of the Roak books I've listened to seem to be able to stand alone. The narration was great too. I enjoyed this one enough that I'll definitely look for more Roak books.

Another great book

Jake Bible does a great job with series and this book. My only complaint, not enough AI in it, and "8 Million God Damns" there was too much "8 Million God Damns". Other than that this book kicks butt and added a lot of new characters along with bringing some classics back.

Another action packed book in the Roak Series.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review. Now this is the second book that I have listened to in the Roak Series with this narrator, and I have listened to several books by Jake Bible. I thoroughly enjoy Jake bibles books. They are action packed, the characters are vivid and brought to life by his storytelling. The Narrator does a great job by giving these characters a voice and personality. This book is action packed and moves at a nice pace. Not so fast as to where one would get lost, but not so slow that the listener gets bored. There were a few characters that were in this book that were also in the first book I listened to. These characters were familiar and I remembered them, but Jake also gives them a small introduction, so that a listener wouldn’t need to listen to all of the books in a series to get the story. What I am trying to say is this books stands on its own. If you enjoy a somewhat dystopian Sci-if, with Wild West undertones, you will like this book.

Action from start to finish.

Roak’s latest job is to capture a tech and return him to the contract originators. A simple enough job. The problem is that the tech currently resides on Razer Station, one of the most dangerous places in the galaxy. All sorts of misfits and ne’er-do-wells hang out here and guarantee that Roak will have his hands full. The story chronicles Roak’s efforts and is full of action and excitement from start to finish.
