Description
Years ago, in the town of Saxon Falls, young Kelsey Willard disappeared and was presumed dead. The tragedy left her family with a fractured life - a mother out to numb the pain, a father losing a battle with his own private demons, and a sister desperate for closure. But now another teenage girl has gone missing. It's ripping open old wounds for the Willards, dragging them back into a painful past, and leaving them unprepared for where it will take them next.
Bureau of Criminal Investigation agent Mark Foster has stumbled on uncanny parallels in the lives of the two missing girls that could unlock clues to a serial killer's identity. That means breaking down the walls of the Willards' long-guarded secrets and getting to a truth that is darker than he bargained for. Now, to rescue one missing girl, he must first solve the riddles that disappeared with another: Kelsey Willard herself. Dead or alive, she is his last hope.

Pretty Girls Dancing, Great listen!
I totally enjoyed Pretty Girls Dancing. I listen to a lot of books of all genres and this one swept me away from the first chapter and didn't let go until the end. People live messy lives and try to soothe themselves in many ways which are simply the good, the bad and the really ugly.
This book isn't littered with sex scenes, gory scenes or a lot of cursing and still entertains from the beginning to the end. It taps into the vulnerability of our youth, the darkness of the deep dark web, predators who prey on the vulnerable and families in crisis.
It's a good suspenseful listen. Give it a try! I highly recommend!
If you found this review helpful let me know. It encourages me to continue giving my reviews as I depend on reviews of others to lead me to the next great listen.
Happy listening!

BEST BOOK I’ve listened to in years!!!!
I am usually too lazy to write a review but I had to on this book! I could not stop listening! The twist and turns kept me from hitting pause (my child was late to school once or twice)! This is a must read!!!

Excellent
Absolutely worth the credit....Finally!!! I’ve listened to too many books lately that were dark & depressing, this was a mystery that offered very likable characters and resolution in spite of tragedy.

Pretty good
It was an entertaining crime story and the perspective of the kidnapped girl was very scary at times. I also was impressed how the author really nailed the idea of the all consuming grief that engulfed the Willard family. However I felt it was a bit wordy at times. Sounds odd but I really noticed how many unnecessary adverbs the author added. Just completely remove the word "emotionally" from the book and I would have given 5 stars!

Facinating Thriller
The mystery is a good one, with plenty of hints and red herrings as to the kidnapper’s identity. We aren’t left in suspense as to whether Whitney was indeed captured by the Ten Mile Killer–she was. He puts her through grueling dance routines all day and whips her when she fails any of his rules, insisting she call him “Daddy” and show him proper gratitude for his efforts. We’re mostly left to wonder who of the various possible men is the kidnapper/killer, and how Whitney’s own story will end. Meanwhile Janie is the closest thing to a main character I’d say, even though we see things through a variety of characters’ eyes, and she’s a compelling character. She’s already made great strides with her crippling anxiety, but that doesn’t keep her from having a hard time of things when Whitney goes missing and she sees her parents fall apart even further than they already have.
Many thrillers concentrate on the hunt for the bad guy, but this one is much more about his effect on his victims’ families. The characters are very ‘real,’ with believable quirks, flaws, and strengths. Probably my only quibble in this area is that the only female agent involved had a history in which she tried to get into bed with the main (married) male agent and left him wondering if she had slept her way up the ladder. It would have been nice to have more major character detail than that. However, on the good side, the ending made me tear up a bit in several places, and that’s a sign of an emotionally riveting tale. All in all, this was a good listen.
All the narrators did a great job with the delivery of the story. My only issue was why five narrators for me it made the listen a bit disjointed. One or two narrators would been plenty.

Couldn’t even finish
Whoever the female narrator is that starts the book... should never narrate another book
I found myself skipping just to get rid
Of her.. thinking I could catch up ... but it was just too much cringing. Couldn’t finish

Good story
A good book but maybe a better read than listen. The main female narrator had very clear diction - almost to a fault - which only drew attention to the fact that she would pronounce didn’t as dint and shouldn’t as shunt. I found myself being so annoyed by this that it detracted from the entire book.

Juvenile writing, sorry I like big girl books!
Took a chance on this one based on reviews. Yikes, what a sophomoric wreck of a book this one is. I am on chapter 5 and giving it up.

If I could give this book zero stars I would
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
This book was horrible. It was ridiculously unrealistic and completely predictable. The narrators were awful especially the one reading Janie. I listen to books everyday, and I love a good mystery. I actually feel like I was duped out of a credit. I have no idea how this book got any good reviews at all. I finished it because I could never not finish a book, but it was painful. Don’t waste your money or more importantly your time.
