    Description

Will Montgomery is a successful professional football player and seemingly has it all. He’s not used to being told no, and certainly doesn’t take no for an answer. So when he turns his charms on his sister’s sexy rocker-chick friend Meg, he’s not only turned down, but met with open hostility, piquing his curiosity and libido.

He’s determined to show her that he’s not the arrogant jock she thinks he is, and to get her into his bed. Megan McBride is not impressed with Will Montgomery, his fat contract, fancy car, or his arrogant public persona. She doesn’t have time for a relationship, and if she’s learned anything in life, it’s that loving means losing, so she guards her heart ferociously. But she can’t deny the overwhelming attraction to the sexy, tattooed athlete, and when Will starts breaking down her defenses and grabs hold of her heart, will she be able to admit her feelings for him? Or will her troubled past cause her to lose the first man she’s ever truly loved?

Play With Me is the third book in the With Me In Seattle Series.

This is Will & Meg's story! It didn't disappoint!

We meet Meg McBride briefly towards the end of Fight With Me. She has a brief encounter with Jules & Will where she expresses some serious animosity towards Will. In the beginning of Play With Me you quickly learn why Meg is hostile towards him. Will is one of the four Montgomery brothers who all seem to be made from the sexy gene pool. He is a hot quarterback who can be a famous arrogant butt at times but when push comes to shove, Will is actually sweet and protective. Will is essentially living his dream as a football star. He's worked hard to get where he is and life for him is all about the game. That is, until he meets Megan McBride. Meg takes him by surprise when she instantly rejects him upon their first encounter. I loved Meg as a heroine. She is a woman who loves a sexy car, has a tattoo, used to sing in a rock band. To me, she was so genuine. She is a nurse working at the Seattle Children's Hospital in the cancer ward. She has a difficult job, but she loves it and she works hard. She gave up her career as a singer/musician when her best friend Leo moved to L.A. leaving her behind. Meg has had to overcome a harsh childhood and has dealt with the people who she has loved most in the world abandoning her. She definitely has trust issues not readily opening her heart to anyone. Will challenges her and even though she had a hard time voicing her feelings for him, he was simply too hard to resist. Will pulls out all the stops and this is wonderfully romantic and, as always, gave me the warm and fuzzies and is full of goofy grin loveliness. This story is hopeful, beautiful, compelling and it’s full of humor, passion, compassion and uplifting happiness. It’s paced beautifully allowing time for the relationship to believably develop, giving Meg chance to slowly reveal the reasons behind her doubts & for Will to fully understand how to help her heal. Kristen Proby has once again provided a very romantic tale with little angst and a whole lot of holy hotness. I love the fact that we get to catch up with the other couples from the previous books and get glimpses as to the other characters for future books. I am hooked.

Did not finish - heroine too annoying!

The performer was ok, but her rendition of the heroine made me cringe. I like conflict between the main characters but in this book the heroine was just unreasonable.

    Ugh again

I had decided to give another Kristen Proby book a chance. Just because the last male protagonist was an overbearing jerkwad, doesn't mean they all will be, right? Wrong. Meeting number 1, he eyes her like a piece of meat and she shoots him down. Meeting number 2, she ignores him so he decides it's a good idea to follow her into the bathroom, lock the door behind her, cage her in against the sink, and eye her like a piece of meat. Be still my beating heart!... because if I were her I'd be in total fight or flight mode after being cornered by this predator.

Sorry, not sorry Kristen Proby, but you are officially on my no-read list.

Also, narration was just so-so. Her male voices just seemed kinda squeaky

    Ridiculous and Juvinile

This should have been set in high school. It’s the kind of story where pro football players are given a week off during football season and nurses are told to go home in the middle of a shift to go on an unscheduled two week fantasy vacation because you know, the world is just like that. The female lead gets drunk a lot and says things like “I forgot how to spell pussy”.

The female narrator adopted a babydoll, air headed bedroom voice when speaking for the main character that really, really got on my nerves.

Didn't like narrator voice and story was too predictable

The girl narrator (95% of the time) drove me nuts, voice too squeaky, kept thinking that was the voice of those mean/obnoxious girls from movies. The male narrator was awesome but only spoke like 5% of the time.
The story is ok but it was too predictable, the guy would say things that I think you would only hear in movies (not really realistic) and she will say things that were redundant to the story, I kept saying "dah!".

    Great, but repetitive

This series is good. Romantic with vivid sex scenes. My only complaint is that the stories are repetitive. While the names and occupations change, every male subject has the same personality (overly protective and aggressive) and every female is the same (horrible trust issues and resists the man but eventually gives in). There's no variety but the series isn't unbearable.

Hot Sexy Quarterback Meets Quirky Singing Nurse

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes I would recommend this book to a friend because who wouldn't want to listen to a book about a "big" football player chasing a sweet, caring young lady. Will is a nurturer and Meg is used to taking care of others so it's nice to have someone take care of her. We all fantasize about handsome, sexy men taking care of all of our needs.

Would you be willing to try another book from Kristen Proby? Why or why not?

I would absolutely be willing to try another book from Kristen Proby, just as soon as the next book is released. I have listened to all of her books that are available on Audible.

What about Jennifer Mack’s performance did you like?

I really like Jennifer Mack's performance of the female characters. I liked the performance of the book better because Eric Michael Summerer perform throughout the story and not just the epilogue.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

I would not go to the movies but I might be tempted to watch it as a made for TV movie.

    not great

Bad book, just sex every other page and not much of a storyline. Narration wasn't too bad but didn't make the book better
