Oh Amy Daws does it again!!! I loved the Harris Brothers series and when I heard there would be a sort of spin-off book I knew I would be sitting on Audible hitting refresh just waiting for the release.

This is now my favorite Amy Daws book EVER! Roan & Allie had chemistry that was so real and off the charts, you can't resist falling in love with them. Allie is a Harris cousin who lived in the US but was still a big part of the family. She is so fun and outgoing, I just wanted to be friends with her from the very beginning. Roan is a South African Soccer player who is seriously the best book boyfriend ever written. He is such a good guy with serious sex appeal that you can't help fall in love with him. Their love story is swoon worthy & so hot with a few bumps in the road that they work through with so much maturity and love that you have to see them get their HEA.

I don't honestly think I've enjoyed a book this much in a long, long time. Amy Daws writing is so fun & witty. She had me laughing out loud in the middle of one of the HOTTEST sex scenes ever! Now that is talent if you ask me. Listening to this book made me want to start this series from the beginning again because I just enjoy her writing so much!

Now lets talk about the AMAZING narration for Payback! This audiobook is narrated in duet (sort of read like a play). Erin Mallon is the voice of Allie and let me tell you she was PERFECT! She has a way of making a sweet, funny girl into a sex goddess. Aaron Shedlock is the voice of Roan, now I don't know anything about South African accents but I do know that I loved his accent. He brought the nice guy in Roan to the forefront while still giving him that sexy slightly bossy other side too. Will Watt narrated all side male characters which for me was awesome because these guys already had their own voices in my head and he kept with those voices from the other books perfectly, and he is a great narrator with a great accent. Charlotte Cole narrates all the female side characters which I loved for the same reason as Will, because she was their voice in my head already. Seriously the casting of this audiobook was pure perfection imho!

LISTEN TO THIS AUDIOBOOK! I know the book is amazing but seriously it's even more amazing narrated by this cast!

5 Harris Shakedown Stars!!!

In full disclosure I read this book when it was released. Having said that, Ms. Daws is one of a handful of authors that I ALWAYS listen to her audiobooks after I've read them because they're just that good! Her ability to write a story and picking the perfect narrators is what I love most. In this case, it's a multi-cast audiobook and I FREAKING LOVED IT!! Aaron and Erin are the PERFECT Roan and Allie and then throwing in Will and Charlotte and it's a MASTERPIECE. I found myself snort laughing more times than I could count but there were also times that my heart was hurting for Allie and what's happening in her life. While I had similar emotions reading the book, listening to it just brought the characters more to life in my head!

I seriously freaking loved this story. I love how the Harris family came together. Allie and Roan are on the same page for what’s going to happen when they first meet. But what they weren’t expecting is the connection that was immediately there. Talk about a memorable evening! Of course, there’s so much more to this night that he’s not aware of and when he finds out…holy moly it’s a doozy of a reaction!

Roan is my newest favorite BBF. He’s the whole package and the fact that he stands up to all the Harris brothers makes him the PERFECT fit for Allie! I loved how he was there for her helping her realize what an amazing woman she is! And when I tell you, this is a girl that needs to hear this, I’m not lying. There’s this underlying issue in her family and my heart truly ached for her…but never fear, it all comes to a head so to speak and it’s sweet justice!!!

These two are hotter than hot. Their love growing almost organically so to speak. There’s several surprises in this book that had me laughing, crying and filling me with so much joy! Ms. Daws has done a phenomenal job of giving us more of the Harris clan but also introducing us to more secondary characters for us to fall in love with….there’s two in particular that I can’t wait for them to get their own story!!!

As I mentioned at the beginning of my review I FREAKING LOVED this story. It’s everything I wanted when it comes to a book set in the Harris family world. These boys protect their cousin like no one else especially when it comes to her love life….two words….Harris Shakedown and of course there’s the Harris Bacon Sandwich rule that I swear had me snort laughing.

I’m so happy to be back in the Harris world and can’t wait to see what Ms. Daws has for us in the future!

Best multi cast narration ever!

I honestly cannot tell you enough how much I loved this story ! This multi cast of brilliant narrators brought it to life perfectly! This entire book is like the best orgasm in your ears! I have fallen in love with every character throughout Amy Daws' books. Each book although can be read as standalones, takes you through the amazing journey of each one of the Harris's life. and I am truly honored to read and listened to every single one. Roan and Allie's story is one of intense passion and extreme heartbreak. But through it all, the over all love of the Harris's and Roan had my heart stuttering. Such a phenomenal story . Loved every minute of this audio. And the beauty of audio, is that I can re listen as many times as I want😍

LOVED THIS ONE!

I enjoyed this story, although I felt like throttling the heroine for more than half of the book just for a very irresponsible act that would be life altering not only for herself but for others.

Mistakes were made, and forgiveness granted, and it was well done when I didn’t see how things could be resolved, but they were resolved beautifully.

The narrators made it a very enjoyable listen.

Recommended story.

Aaron and Erin ARE Roan and Allie! Perfection!

Payback is Amy Daws' newest sexy, football romance set in the Harris Brothers world! It's their cousin Alice and Roan is Tanner's teammate. If you haven't read the Harris Brothers series you need to run and do that now. This is a standalone so you won't be lost, but you will want to know every one of their stories. Trust me. I listened to the entire series in audio and I love all the brothers! I actually might love Roan the same if not more than them and I was so excited he was going to get his own story. The sexy South African beauty needed his own happily ever after!

The story: Roan's not your typical footballer with the girls and the drama. He pretty much stays to himself with his roommate Mac (Please give us his story!) and dates here and there. He's not a player and he's actually a nice guy. Allie's cousin Vi sets her up on a date with Roan and Allie can't believe how good looking, funny and sweet he is. He's also confident, sexy and a dirty talker. Allie's only in London for a few days and she spends one amazing night with Roan. Two years later and Allie is back in town. Roan isn't going to let this opportunity go by again. He wants more of Allie and he's determined to get what he wants. He's never wanted a woman like this and not just in the bedroom. There's something about her that's so different. She's beautiful, but there's so much more to her. Allie tries to resist Roan, but he just says the perfect things. He wants more but he's not sure what she wants. When things finally get real, something from their past gets out and it's not good. Not good at all. Roan has worked his whole life to stay clean and focused and help his mom and sisters and his whole life is in jeopardy too. And so is the life he thought he was going to have with Allie. Will Roan be able to forgive Allie? Will he realize he needs her before it's too late? Wow. I loved this story! Roan gave me all the feels. He's so sexy and handsome and loves his family. He's talented and dedicated and loves so many things about Allie. I loved watching them fall for each other. They are opposites, but they just fit. Their connection is off the charts! Allie was broken, but she survived. She's strong, funny and quirky. I mean, she is a Harris! Overall, I laughed, cried, got hot and bothered!

The narration: First of all this is multi-cast! I love listening to my romances this way. Erin Mallon is Allie and I'm a huge fan of Erin's. She does emotion so well and I loved this character so this was a win-win. This is my first Aaron Shedlock audio and wow. Just wow. The accent, his deep voice. It was perfection. He was the perfect Roan. And, of course, I already love Will and Charlotte as the secondary characters. They are always going to be the Harris brothers and the women they love to me. Overall, I loved listening to this duet and I can't wait for more audio from Amy and I'm going to be stalking Aaron and getting more of his books too!

Brilliant story and narration

When listening to an audio book, the narrators can make or break a book, even if it is by a favourite author. If their performances do not gel with you then the enjoyment of the story is can be disappointing. The narrators for Payback were absolutely spot on. I adored each and every one of them from the main characters voiced by Aaron Shedlock and Erin Mallon to the remaining characters voiced by Will Watt and Charlotte Cole.

Having read the other books in the Harris Brothers series I couldn’t wait to dive back into their world. This is cousin Allie Harris and Roan Dewalt’s story and oh what a story it is.

Determined to move on with her life after catching her cheating ex in a compromising act, Allie wants nothing more than payback. What could be better than a hot as Hades one night stand with a sexy South African soccer player? What could possible go wrong?

Her chosen man, Roan is more of a complication than Allie realizes; in fact Roan wants more.

Fast forward a couple of years and fate brings Allie and Roan dace to face again.

There is absolutely nothing that I didn’t love about this story. Payback is everything I hoped for and so much more.

Throw in the outrageous and often hilarious Harris brothers and of course the fabulous and feisty Vi, you just know you are in for a great read.

I absolutely adore this family and the overwhelming love and unconditional support they gave Allie was heartwarming. It was great to see Allie emerge and blossom throughout Payback.

Roan ticked all the boxes for me, totally swoon worthy and his unconditional love for Allie melted me.

Payback is a fabulous addition to the series and one that I highly recommend.

Footballers, Accents & Multicast=GOOOOOALLLLLLL!

Amy Daws's writing and audiobook production skills continue to evolve book after book. She pushes the envelope and takes more risks progressing through solo narration, dual narration, duet narration and now multicast. As an audio lover, she's a dream come true in her willingness to bring her novels to life for those of us who are aurally addicted.

The story of Allie Harris and Roan DeWalt hit ALL the buttons for me, without going over the top. Allie Harris wants payback, but revenge is never a simple game and when her payback plan doesn't work out as planned, you're in for a ride. It's emotional without being sad, engaging without being trite, and doesn't take the easy way out of the conflict as many other romance novelists might have. The family connections only get stronger with this audiobook, particularly between Allie and her British family. This can be listened to as a standalone, but I highly recommend starting at the beginning of the Harris Brothers audiobooks after you finish Payback.

The narration of Payback is delicious, and a huge part of that credit goes to the smoky sexiness of Aaron Shedlock's South African accent for Roan DeWalt. His delivery is perfection-giving enough accent without going too far. Erin Mallon as Allie Harris gives a fantastic performance, as usual. She is one of the great female narrators in romance audio and gives her character all the emotions perfectly. Will Watt and Charlotte Cole play their Harris Brothers characters as they have in previous audiobooks, giving that authentic British flair that has become a staple in this series.

This audiobook delivers a straight up goal and makes it look easy. A fantastic story plus superb narration will keep you listening and re-listening.

Aaron Shedlock

I chose this story because I'm Aarons fan and I love him as a reader. He has the sexiest voice and awesome reader. He did not disappoint me and his accent was a bonus! however, I'm not Erin's fan. Her voice and tone just did not do it for me. I felt annoying at her reading at times(not sure why) since this story had such a good review. Will and Charlotte did an awesome job as well. That said, this author is new to me and I love the story. I will definitely look more work from her. I highly recommend!

always an amazing story

its always a pleasure to listen to Amys books. She always has the best narrators. Always the best plot. And as I have said a million times. She is the only woman who can make me Enjoy Romcom.
She is Amazing.
