Great introduction to parenting
The general approach drawn by the author seems both very practical and well-balanced. There are scientific facts to back it up, there are also real-life examples and numerous tips. Definitely something worth listening and spending a while to consider and implement.
At the same time the author repeats same tips and statements over and over as if he wanted to make sure you've registered them. I find it extremely annoying and far prefer to read book for the second time, than to be tired of it in the middle and hit fast forward. I cannot really imagine to play it again and hear about letting your kid choose his potty for 15th time.
Another aspect that made us uncomfortable was the heavy gender stereotypes sneaked into the the potty training tips. There is really no need for it.
