    Even better than the first book. I really like the fact that both mmc and FMC are nearing 40. And their banter is just chef's kiss.

    I adore the characters and the story. And I'm absolutely in awe of the narrator that I find excellent. Such a joy.

    This novel is good, if you do not mind crude words with constant sexual references and violence. Otherwise, it might be difficult to read. It is still great to learn more about paladins and the new group of characters is welcome, though we only really get to know 2 of them. More development of secondary characters would have been a nice plus.

    I found the first novel more original, funnier, sweeter and better paced. Here we feel like going through the same "romance" pattern, but less cute and well, more a lust than love story really. Violence is more explicit and frequent too, sexual references too, so a warning for sensitive people:

    Feels like the main protagonist of the story is the character's "c**k" as the word is so predominant in the text, like a constant leitmotiv, and in his thoughts. It can get very repetitive and annoying. The man's perpetual sexual obsession and some interactions are just plain disturbing (battle blood covering someone is supposedly sexy, also being forceibly pushed on a wall and kissed without prior consent too, also sex so violent that furniture gets broken etc).
