I adore the characters and the story. And I'm absolutely in awe of the narrator that I find excellent. Such a joy.

Even better than the first book. I really like the fact that both mmc and FMC are nearing 40. And their banter is just chef's kiss.

This novel is good, but I found the first novel more original, funnier, sweeter and better paced. Here we feel like going through the same "romance" pattern, but less cute and well, more a lust than love story really. Violence is more explicit, with gore, and frequent too and I struggled to like this paladin.

The man's perpetual sexual obsession gets repetitive, annoying and really, even scary. He cannot even think straight when people are in danger. And some sexual interactions are just plain disturbing: battles and blood covering someone is supposedly sexy (your pals are being killed, wake up maybe?), being pushed on a wall and kissed without prior consent too etc.
