Description
A song half-heard. The murmur of a voice singing in the dark. There it is again...a few words set to an old melody filled with mystery, heartbreak and horror.
Out of Tune gathers a collection of original dark fantasy tales inspired by folk ballads. Here you'll find stories of strange creatures and strangers humans, treachery and love, murder and monsters.
Out of Tune brings together some of today's most talented writers and sets them loose in that swirling darkness at the edge of town. NY Times best-selling author and editor Jonathan Maberry unleashes his own brand of dark forces with a line-up of best sellers and award winners. With commentary on each source ballad by folklorist Nancy Keim Comley.
Now get ready to dance to the music of the night.

DNF
I hate it when I can not finish a book. Even worse, I feel bad when I return it, because the author's have counted on that. I buy books of short stories for two reasons- One, because there is always something from one of my favorite authors in it and Two, I am always looking for new ones.
Sadly, it is mainly because of the one narrator, Lesley Ann Fogle, that I can not finish it. Her inflections, when she has them, are in the wrong places. Almost every paragraph starts out like she is either bored or reading a text book, and then half way thru she will get semi-animated. I have skipped the first couple stories but I can't go on. I just can't, or I will shoot my phone.
I will go buy it in kindle so I can read the stories. I just won't be buying anything she ever narrates.
Peter Bishop, on the other hand, was good. I wish I could give the book two sets of stars.
