Description
For fans of The Haunting of Hill House comes a dark tale of a mansion haunted by a legacy of tragedy and a family trapped by lies.
Margot and Myron Spielman move to a new town, looking for a fresh start and an escape from the long shadow of their past. But soon after they buy Rawlingswood, a foreclosed mansion rumored to be haunted, they realize they’re in for more of the same…or worse.
After a renovation fraught with injuries and setbacks, the Spielmans move in to the century-old house, and their problems quickly escalate. The home’s beautiful facade begins to crumble around them when their teenage son uncovers disturbing details of Rawlingswood’s history - a history of murder, betrayal, and financial ruin. The Spielmans’ own shameful secrets and lies become harder to hide as someone or something inside the house watches their every move.
As tensions build between the family members, the home’s dark history threatens to repeat itself. Margot and Myron must confront their own ghosts and Rawlingswood’s buried past before the house becomes their undoing.
Commentaires
“A door creaks open. A footstep thumps on an empty floor above. A light turns on in a room left dark. In every silent room and black corner of No One’s Home, D. M. Pulley weaves threads of hypnotic suspense with the sad strands of a family lost to one another. With an elegantly restrained hand that stops mercifully shy of showcasing the unbearable, Pulley has created a contemporary intelligent thriller that can stand with the canon of the legendary Shirley Jackson.” (Amber Cowie, bestselling author of Rapid Falls)
“Disturbing and creepy. D.M. Pulley does a masterful job of introducing the reader to families who, at different points in time, are forced to experience life in the same menacing house. Reminds me of Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House, and I loved every second of it!” (Matthew Farrell, bestselling author of What Have You Done)

BRILLIANTLY WRITTEN!!!!
Ravenswood is a mansion that should be burned to the ground. Since it was built excluding the original owner, everyone has purchased it for a fraction of what it’s worth. Maybe a deal too good to be true. The place feels wrong but the price is right. It seems every family that moves in has some hidden issues they’ve tried to tuck away. So does the house.
This story revolves around multiple families over the course of about a century. The men seem to always die and the women loose their sanity. Told in multiple times frames each new family adds another layer to the enigma.
Emily Sutton Smith’s narration is outstanding.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Another winner for Ms. Pulley!!
This is D.M. Pulley's fourth novel, all standalone. I've been a fan since the release of The Dead Key in 2015. The author understands how to build suspense and she does it superbly. NO ONE"S HOME is more than a bit creepy as are Pulley's other novels. I love this novel.
Narration by Emily Sutton-Smith is outstanding.

She did it AGAIN!!!
D.M. Pulley has a magnificent way of weaving a story and making you feel as if you're a part of it. I am a person who loves checking out old houses (when one can these days) so her stories woven with the history of a building or home pull at something in my soul-wish I could travel to them with her I can't ever stop reading/listening until I'm done! The worst part.....waiting on her next book to be released. Thanks Again, til the next one.

I hung in there but...,,
So much potential that doesn’t Really happen. Haunted house but without the scary parts that you love. Good performance by Emily.

Suspenseful; Thrilling; Great narration; Fantastic
I am a huge fan of D.M. Pulley and this book is arguably the best.
The home on Lee Rd. in Shaker Heights, Ohio was built by the Rollingsworths in the 1920s. It stands a magnificent shell of the original residence when Margot and Myron Spielman decide to buy it in 2018. The house is in shambles from disrepair, theft and neglect. After restoring part of the three-story estate, the Spielman’s and their son, Hunter, make it their new home. Secrets buried and the glimpses of unusual sightings make them question the wisdom of their purchase. More of their lives intertwine with those that came before, leaving everyone fighting with unseen demons.
The tension in this book will keep you on edge. Even when you are not reading, the puzzles and ideas planted throughout the story are being mulled. Each of the characters have strength and weaknesses. Some are irredeemable but most have good and bad qualities. The writing is suspenseful, intriguing and thrilling. Just as you think you have things figured out; something will happen to leave you questioning everything you know.
D. M. Pulley writes mysteries and thrillers like many other authors. However, the emotions that this book and her prior mysteries evoke are so superb that she must be considered one of the best. She has, once again, written one of my favorite books of the year.
I received an ARC from Thomas & Mercer through NetGalley. That in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book. I am voluntarily submitting this review.

Almost unbearable narration
Trying to stick with this story but it’s one of the worst cold narrations ever. Narrator is robotic and her character renditions are unbelievable and patronizing. Inflection completely wrong as if she has had zero life experiences to convey the normal way people talk to one another.
Feel like story could be descent. On chapter 13 and just trying to ignore this narrator.

Well written but paranormal isn't my cup of tea
I've rated Ms. Pulley three previous books 5 stars. Her writing skills are impressive but paranormal isn't my cup of tea. Also, there are a ton of characters that you have to keep track of. The narration was ok but struggled with some of the voices and varied between chapters.

Solid 4 Stars
This story really gave me the creeps a few times, even making me turn it off a few times so I could sleep, but once the twist was revealed I really started losing interest. I was expecting spooks all the way to the end but it really came up lackluster. I also would have liked all the different families stories to have been a bit more tidied at the end but overall it was with me banking a credit on it.

I did love it
Everything is round and fine. You are in for a wonderful narrated read.
If you look for gore.. skip it!
It's a great Story going on about different familys. Three Storylines put to a knot. Ghosts, Mysterie and a very modern real ending.
Kept me engaged till the end.
