Mercedes Harrigan and Rebbie Russell pulled the trigger and bought a detective agency with the posh name of Bard St. Clair & Watson. Add the duos mad murder solving skills and what could go wrong? Turns out, the former owner cooked the books; the agency is in the red. With winter gripping Porneuf Gap, business is slow; until Ryker Stone, womanizer and hair stylist, drops dead at his elite salon, Epicurean.
After Stone's vivacious personality is snuffed out in a macabre fashion, the cause of death becomes a puzzle. Ryker's dysfunctional family claims a heart anomaly. Epicurean's office manager hires the new PI agency to find the murderer. Old Town gossip blames an ancient curse.
In the middle of a blizzard, a couple renting from Sadie abandon their apartment and successful tattoo business. Sadie suspects her new renter, a dangerously handsome bounty hunter, is tracking the missing tenants. The Chief of Police considers their PI agency a thorn under his saddle and accuses Sadie of withholding evidence in Ryker's murder investigation.
With sparse clues can Sadie and Rebbie cut through the chaos, solve the case and put their PI agency in the black or will they end up buried in more than winter's snow drifts.
