Description

Now a National Best Seller

The return of the cutting-edge thriller series Net Force, created by Tom Clancy and Steve Pieczenik and written by Jerome Preisler.

The number-one threat to our nation’s security is in cyberspace. The new US president wants to tackle the urgent problem head-on and launches a top secret line of defense: Net Force. But before the organization can be announced, the country is hit by an unprecedented, two-pronged terror attack.

Not yet empowered by Congress nor embraced by a dubious intelligence community, still untested, unproven and officially unnamed, Net Force’s elite group of cyber experts and field operatives must lead the fight against the ongoing waves of hacks while tracking down the mastermind. Their failure could mean global catastrophe. Success may lead them to become the highest-level security agency in the United States.

A story that seems ripped from tomorrow’s headlines, Net Force: Dark Web relaunches one of the most prescient thriller series at a time when cybersecurity is more vital than ever.

Enjoying the story but not the narrator

I’m going to buy the ebook. I just can’t deal with the narrator. I find his intonation and narrative style completely distracting from the story requiring frequent rewinds to simply follow the story.

They should have read the series?!

I enjoyed the book or at least the story line.
However....as someone who has read every book in the series, the astounding lack of understanding of previous painstaking character development almost ruined it for me. A newcomer would not care for example that Col. Howard had long ago been promoted to general and retired. Much time had been dedicated to his personality and beliefs, and all were ignored in this latest book. Same for Sgt. Hernandez having been promoted to Lt. and then Capt. his personal characteristics are not at all as previously established. Same goes for Alex Michaels. No wife ?!(Toni) no son (Alex Jr)?! Why bother even using the names if not to draw on what had been so carefully developed.
So sad and frustrating.

The narrator is miserable to try and listen to.

the narrator makes this unbearable. I don't don't how he got a job narrating, but it literally makes me uncomfortable. too fast, hard to understand, and he can't seem to make you believe anything he says. a refund would be nice.
