Avis de l'équipe

If you've heard the phrase "learn from your mistakes" your whole life, but still aren't sure you are getting the lessons, this audiobook is for you. Robert Singer uses his own mistakes and life experiences to illustrate the lessons he thinks we'd all do well to learn. Stephen Bel Davies narrates this audiobook in a raspingly round voice, with a luxurious range of tones. He has a wonderful reading voice and really animates the vividly detailed prose. This audio is generous with its advice, and readers can pick and choose what is useful to them, whether they are looking to gain self-esteem in the  personal, romantic, familial, or professional arenas.

Some good stuff, some not

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I wouldn't recommend this to a friend. It seems like it's written as advice to the author's teenage child. from a very cynical father. It's basically organized as "here's how you're going to get screwed; here's how I dealt with it."

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Maybe given some useful advice, versus "stay away from this, stay away from that"

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Wow, the narration was AWFUL!!! I mean, bless the little actor's heart, he put his heart and soul into acting out the book in the most dramatic fashion. Trouble is, it's a non-fiction book. His interpretation was way off. His voice sounded like Bea Aurthur from the Golden Girls or something. So, imagine, Bea Aurthur dramatically acting out a reading of the newspaper. You'll get the idea.

The narration was very good. The points were explained in absolute clarity. Applies to whole life no matter what demographic. Definitely going to re-read multiple times.

Maybe the best book ever!

I cannot praise this work enough! It is the absolute best advice I’ve ever heard on living a happy life. If more people lived by these concepts, we would have a peaceful, prosperous world in no time! Do yourself a favor and purchase this book. Then, listen to it again and again until it’s message sinks in. The world will thank you.

A book about the author's opinion of life.

Author kept giving his opinion on different topics of life, sometimes contradicting himself, he expects from readers to create a utopian life.

Cuts to the chase, with just enough detail

This story, this lesson shared, is not what you think / expect. It is about freeing yourself, so that others can be free, too. It's, actually, about doing the right things for yourself, in order to serve the greater good.
