I started this book hoping for a good a story. It’s srldom I don’t finish a book - audio or otherwise. I just couldn’t press in with this one:- interminable, répétitive, dialogues; the asinine, 2D characters; the predictability in each sub awa sub-sub plot etc - which is milked beyond interest and so drawn out it just exceeds maintaining the reader’s/listener’s attention.
Was the editor asleep when the time came for cuts to be made? Or was the editor on the same drug regime as Beamer?
It’s difficult to image how and why this long, drawn out, fictional disaster has won so many awards.
When I thought - for the Nth time - “Please, Just get on with it” I know it was time to pull the plug - and did so in mid-sentence,
Annoying, puerile, interminable are the 3 words that do describe it perfectly. A total wast of money and time.
